Not Helpful. No Real Explanation or Details
This book is so basic and vague it ends up not being helpful at all. For instance, in March it says to service air conditioning system and in the explanation says examine the air filters. Take them out and clean them. But it doesn't tell you at all how?! Then it says "it's now time to clean the coils" - But when describing how to do it all it says is "get a coil cleaner and start cleaning" -- what? how? Another example of how terrible the instructions are comes in April when it says inspect pipes for leaks or damage. It says to first turn off your main water shut off valve. Then, it says if you notice any leaks turn off the main water shut off valve... ?!!? Except you already had me turn it off...!? This book is truly terrible and provides no real help on anything.

Excellent, Well-Planned Maintenance Program
This 12-month guide for home maintenance would make a wonderful gift for any newlywed along with all homeowners. Buying a house is one of those things we do, but for most people there is little understand as to what it takes to keep our home in good working shape long term. As with all things, ignoring maintenance does not make it go away. I love the month-by-month detailed suggestions. It turns what seems to be a daunting job in a simple, planned out way to avoid many maintenance emergencies. Excellent book and the simple and concise way it is explained is well done!

Interesting Read for Maintaining your home
a Very Interesting book on how to maintain your home all year round. What I liked most about the book was that it highlights the small little things that we ignore while maintaining our home and that can lead to big disasters later. I will always keep this book handy and follow the DIY instructions to keep my home maintained.

Good book for a new home owner
The book is very practical and logical. I think the way the book is organized by months has potential, I feel like this book however doesn't use it. It seems like there is no rhyme or reason to the authors approach. A large part of the world is in winter in January but the author suggest it's a good time to check the roof. Logically before the winter or after the winter would make more sense to me. Either way the suggestion of the activity seem practical even if the correlation to the month might not make sense. Like the suggestion in clogging drains in a certain month, that should be done whenever it gets clogged. Again it's a good book for someone with little to no experience and that's a new home owner

A good plan for homeowners
I just bought a new house and wanted to start out right this time. I’ve put off many of the maintenance that previous houses needed just because I didn’t have a plan laid out. This book is that plan. Keep it as a reference and read it every year. Put each item on your calendar as you go through and this time it will get done.

No better than a spiral notebook
This book provides space for you to write. There are no recommendations or suggestions on what and how often to maintain items in your home. Buy a spiral notebook it will be cheaper.

A good overview of things that are easy to lose sight of if you don't systematically deal with the work at hand. You can therefore concentrate on the most important ones each month. A good reminder and a good book.
