Great laser measurer with app integration via Bluetooth to annotate dimensions in photos
Pros- Bluetooth integration with app for annotating photos of an object or room with the measured dimensions- Slim and lightweight- Carrying case included- Batteries included- Tripod mount- Multiple measuring modes and automatic calculations like area, volume, and height based on angular distance measurementsThis is a great laser distance measuring device that was less expensive than some of the other brands I've considered and purchased on the market. The smartphone app was not completely intuitive at first on how to best use it to annotate photos with the measurements taken by the laser device, but once I figured it out it was a great way to measure a room or object and have the measurements appear on the saved photo. One of the tricks was to use Volume mode when measuring the width, length, and height of a room so that it would provide three measurements per photo--even though I wasn't trying to calculate the room's volume. The only downside I found was that the laser turns on and off repeatedly while in measurement, and it's not constantly on. I guess it does this to save battery power and extend the runtime. But when taking measurements it's sometimes nice to have the laser on constantly to quickly find and position the laser. When it flicks on and off, you have to quickly try to position it while you see the laser and then when it the laser turns off you have to try and hold it steady and wait for the laser to turn back on if you didn't hit your target and try to reposition the laser again to the right point. But it's something that I can live with.Overall the price point and app integration make this a nice laser measuring device to keep in your tool bag.

Absolutely amazing measuring tool
At times, I acquire tools for my home and garage that I feel are too good for my home and garage. This is one of those tools. If you're familiar with computer software, this is like the Photoshop of measuring tools. It has a thousand things it can do, most of which a non-professional will never use, but even the simple functions that everyday users will take advantage of are better than other products. But also like Photoshop, there's a bit of a learning curve, even if you just want to use the simple functions. I have spent some quality time with this tool, and as I get to know it better, I like it more and more. Very intuitive, so many different functions, and pairs well with the companion app.One word of caution, though. When looking through your app store, you might find two different but similar looking apps for this tool. If you download the wrong one (like I initially did) there will be a lot of frustration when you can't get an account created. After getting quite angry--and mentally composing a blistering negative review for this product--I did some web research and happened upon the other, correct app. That worked the first time and I was off running with taking measurements and calculating volumes and other stuff I never imagined doing with a tool I ordered simply to measure distances across a room without having to use 20 feet of measuring tape. Amazing tool, couldn't be happier.

Lousy User Manual, Inaccurate Tool
I only had this tool for a few days and am trying to become acquainted with how it works. First off, at less than 6' it seems to be consistently 1/8" of an inch off which is far more deviation than its accuracy claim. That means at 165' it could be about 3 1/2" off. I've verified this inaccuracy with 3 different name brand tape measures. Second, the user manual is decidedly user unfriendly. It a gives a very bare bones, almost machine-like walk through of the different functions without covering them all (how to use the view finder feature?!?) without giving an overview of the function or describing how it applies to a practical work scenario. Both would go a long way toward getting the user up to speed quickly rather than floundering around trying to figure stuff out for ourselves with cryptic instructions. While the tool appears to have a lot of potential benefits, as with just about any function-rich tech device the novice user has a learning curve to overcome and this manual does little to ease the difficulty of that process. This sorely needs to be accompanied by a good video tutorial, but as a general contractor its inaccuracy is why I'll be returning it. The concept is excellent and with proper instruction and improved accuracy it could be a very valuable tool for the professional but unfortunately it falls short on both counts. Once its accuracy bugs are worked out the addition of a work study manual, like can be had for the Construction Master Pro Calculator that walks the user through practical job scenarios would go a long way toward using this effectively.

Definitely a Swiss Army Knife of measuring tools
This measurer is overdone in every possible good way. The fit and finish is amazing, it feels like a tool that should cost more than it does. It seems very accurate and can do so many calculations on the screen. The screen is bright and crisp and definitely high-contrast as the description indicates. This is a must in your toolbox as one of those handy-dandy tools that will come in handy on more than one occasion.
