A beautiful display item and occasional use vintage quill pen and wax seal set.
This review is for a Feather Pen Ink Set.CONTENTS** Classic quill pen complete with feather and red ribbon** Marker pen** Nib base/holder** 5 x replacement nibs (3/2/1.8/1.2/1 mm)** Bookmark** Envelope and letter paper** Letter opener** Bottle of black pen ink** Wax stamp and wax spoon for melting** Tea light candle** Box of wax beads** Attractive vintage style gift boxSIZE** The feather dip pen measures 10" in length** The paper measures 11.2" in length x 2 .3" in width** The bottle of ink holds 18 mls.DESIGN/QUALITY** Really this set works more as a novelty display item rather than a good quality useable quill pen set. The nibs seem a bit too fragile for regular use.** The paper with envelope is an interesting item, it looks very much like old parchment.** The wax stamp and melting beads work very well and produces a very effective and attractive wax seal.IN USEWe live in a very old Georgian village house and we've decorated in an old vintage style reminiscent of the mid 1700s. In our office we have a burr walnut roll top writing bureaux that I inherited from my parents. I've set this attractive set on top of this bureaux and it really looks the part.I LIKE** The vintage design and style** The attractive engraving on all of the metal parts.** The set is beautifully presented.** This whole set would make a really lovely gift.I DON'T LIKE** It's really not the best quality in the world but considering the very reasonable price it's certainly good enough as a display or occasional use item.PRICE£26.99 (price correct at the time of this review) is probably the right price for this.Thank you for reading and I hope you have found my review helpful.

Out Of This World & Very Steampunk
If you recieve thos as a gift then lucky you but if you buy for yourself you will not be disappointed. It comes in a box with an old style map on it and ribbon. On opening everything is beautifully laid out with a really feather used in the quill pen which is made of stainless steel and decorated with cogs and a metal feather. This does take some time getting used to writing with due to the end of the Hill hut you soon get used to it. The quill has it's own ornate stand and a pot of ink. It also has 6 nibs in total and one is actually attached to get you started. The nibs range from 1mm to 3mm. Once you have written your letter it's time to add it to an envelope and to seal with a wax stamp. You are supplied with a tealight, a decorative spoon, a jar of different colour wax and a stamp. To melt the wax, simply add to the spoon and either hold at the end as the seller suggests or if you have them two rubber thimbles that can be used for counting. Onne melted pour o to the envelope and stamp down with with the enclosed stamp. In the pack there is also a metallic pen should you wish to highlight the raised parts of the seal. The set also has a bookmark and a letter opene4 in a similar matching design. I just think it's a beautiful set.

Really nice gift set for a Steampunk fan.
This Steampunk-inspired gift set looks absolutely gorgeous and will be a big hit with any fan of the genre. The set is beautifully presented, in a large box decorated with ribbon and an antique map. On opening the lid, you find a few sheets of matching paper and envelopes, and a sheet of protective foam. The main feature is a calligraphy pen styled to look like a traditional feather quill - with a real bird feather for decoration. The nib is metal, and several different nib widths are included. The pen isn't just a novelty - it works perfectly. I've never used a pen you have to dip before, so I was really surprised when Zippy wrote his entire Christmas list on one dip. Also slightly annoyed, as it's only April - bit early don't you think, Zippy?I'm left-handed, so I don't usually get on with fountain pens - when writing with the left hand, you are pushing the nib across the paper instead of pulling, so it tends to dig into the paper. That's why some left handers hold the pen in ways which look strange to rightys, or write 'upside down'. I hold the pen more conventionally, which usually causes me problems, but I had no issues with the nib fitted to this pen - it glided across the paper really nicely, and one dip is enough ink to write four or five lines of writing. The rest of the set features a letter sealing stamp, and its supporting cast of wax, gold marker pen and tiny crucible for melting the wax over the supplied tealight candle. The stamp is very crisply cast, with a pattern of gears. I pressed it into a lump of modelling clay for my photo, as Mrs. Z won't let us play with candles when she's not here in case I burn the house down. She knows me too well...The overall feel of this set is very impressive. The presentation is flawless. The pen actually works, and well. The styling leans towards young teen and feminine, with feathers, hearts and angel wings. This would make a superb gift set for any fan of Twilight, Buffy, Last Exile (or Anime in general, really), Final Fantasy or the Steampunk genre.
