After having to deal with power outages in the past, I have been looking for alternatives for candles, as I have several cats in my home, and I don't want to chance them knocking over a candle. This is a great light. It has three light levels, and I have it on my nightstand, as a light source in case the power is interrupted. It looks nice, and gives off plenty of light to read by, as well as to see. I have even used it late at night when I needed to get up and didn't want to deal with the bright overhead lights. It gives off enough light to be able to maneuver around my house, without having to resort to turning on more lights, and if the power does go out, I won't have to utilize a flashlight, as it makes it easy to see the entire room.

I just ordered another for my kitchen. I love these lamps. I can move them anywhere in the house. Love the three types of light it gives.A fantastic gift too!
