Chicago PD - Season 2 [DVD] [2014]

When it's at its very best, American television is unbeatable (I am writing this in Glasgow, Scotland). I am thinking of things like the first four series of the West Wing, the ones written by Aaron Sorkin; and the great years of NCIS when Tony and Ziva were sparring across the bull-pen.. Chicago PD is easily as good as these great shows. It is certainly the best cop show I have ever seen, and is quite possibly the best ever. It has a great ensemble cast, so it's probably unfair to pick out just one member. But I will, all the same. I can't remember ever loving a character as much as I love Sophia Bush's Det. Erin Lindsay. She has created a character with a wonderful depth and range, who is both gritty and compassionate, and who has an intriguing back story. Most long-running series quickly become stale through formulaic repetition. Not so this one, which keeps its freshness, edge and zip from episode to episode..

The second season of the cop series about the team lead by the guy who gargles with crushed sandpaper and gravel every morning.As with season 1, everything is fast paced, at times almost manic, but this gives the viewer an exciting experience, one where they almost feel involved. There are a good 23 episodes (unlike the poor 6-8 in uk 'series'), with crossovers into Chicago Fire season 3 and Law & Order SVU season 16. This is the one thing I find irritating as, to see the whole picture, one needs to see the other series AND see them at pretty much the same time, but that's why they do it!!Highy recommended series

Great balance of Crime fighting and personal stories of characters we follow through the show. This box set includes all the crossover episodes with chicago fire and law and order, unlike season 1 box set which just had the aftermath episode of chicago pd, not initial storyline on chicago fire. Get your money's worth with this one!

I love the #onechicago franchise. Chicago PD has a great mix of characters and storylines. The only downsides are the price of the DVDs and how long we have to wait in the UK for season 3. Having said that, well worth the money (detective Halstead is very good looking and I pay the money just to drool over him!)

As I'm a big fan of the series on 5USA and have Season 1 on DVD it will come as no surprise that I like it. However, the extra episodes from its stablemates Chicago Fire and Law And Order Special Victims Unit have confused things as I haven't been able to find all those extra episodes so far amongst the Disks in the box which has nice packaging by the way. It was delivered through the post promptly. Playing quality is fine. It's just those infernal extra episodes. I'd have preferred it if I'd just got the second season and had the option of buying the extras as and when I wanted them, which is hardly Amazon's fault. This does not mean that I will not be buying Season 3 in due course! I may just go through Season Two again and see if I can solve the conundrum first. That's why I didn't rate it 5 stars.

I am thoroughly enjoying this series and am currently waiting for season 3 to arrive. There is nothing particularly new here just goodies vs baddies. Take your brain out and enjoy.

Watched series one.,I thought that was fab,, this series is even better. This would be the team, that I would want to fight my corner. So looking forward to series three. 5 stars all the way.

Love this show and all things Chicago, definitely worth watching all 3 of the tv series as they have a lot of crossovers
