How many people can see through the superficiality of what a person chooses to present
Dream MeKathryn Berla4 stars“How many people can see through the superficiality of what a person chooses to present, strip away all the layers, and come face to face with that person’s most difficult truths? How many people can do this and still be able to sustain their absolute and unwavering devotion? I did this. I would declare to the world my unshakeable commitment to Zat if I could trust anyone to listen. But sadly, I can’t say it to the one person who needs to hear it most, which is Zat. He revealed himself to me and by doing so he risked rejection and loss. All he held onto was the hope that if I really knew him, I would still choose him.”Zat lives with his Uncle, all of his family has left to find a more habitable world in the solar systems. Zat has chosen a different path; he wants to live when the earth was thriving with life. Zat's fate is chosen for him one night and he decides to live in Babe’s dreams. He tells Babe about Pioneer One and how he wants to be like him, what his earth and people are like. He finds that being in her dreams is causing her health to be at risk, so he tries to stay in the background and watch the girl he loves.Babe Fremont has to move from California to Sugar Dunes, Florida. Babe’s mom, dad, and two older brothers are all golfers, but Babe wants to be a writer or a tennis star. She cannot wait to start her new job at tennis shop in the country club her dad works in. Her fist night in Sugar Dunes she dreams of a little café and a mysterious stranger, every night he is in her dreams. As the nights go on, she finds she is totally in love with him. He is the one thing that gets her through the day and she cannot wait to go to sleep to see him. As the days go by she makes friends and become inseparable.I gave this book four stars, I never did understand how Zat and Babe’s story started. I did love that the author broke up on chapter into different parts. I do love getting the main charterer’s side to a screen in the same chapter. I also enjoyed that Kathryn Berla made her characters from different lifestyles, they become the best of friends, and they do not judge anyone. Short chapters made it feel like a quick read. A good book for young adults.

Wonderful original story
Babe is used to moving a lot because of her father's job. This time she has to start over in Sugar Dunes, a small town in Florida. Babe's father has arranged for his daughter to work at the local tennis shop, so Babe has something to do during the summer and will have the chance to earn some money. In her new home Babe's nights become more interesting than her days, she starts dreaming about Zat, a boy she has an instant connection with. The dreams feel real and each morning Babe has a terrible headache. Who is Zat and why is he occuring in Babe's dreams? When Zat meets Babe he feels like he belongs. His life on Earth is limited, because he's from the far away future and time is running out for the planet. His family has already left and now Zat has to find a way to secure his own future. While his family chose to relocate, Zat doesn't want to leave Earth and is traveling back in time. He's part of Babe's dreams and enjoys finding out how his planet looked before it lost its fertility. However, Zat knows being part of Babe's dreams hurts her, can he find a solution to be with the girl he would love to spend the rest of his days with, without leaving her in pain after every visit?Dream Me is a fabulous original story. I loved reading about Zat's world. He's from the future and has to leave that life behind. While that's a big change he's mainly looking at the positive side, he has the chance to get to know Babe. Babe is a sweet and pretty girl. She's also talented and smart and knows what she wants. I admired her courage. She has to start over every time her father finds a new job and she still makes friends easily and treats a new place as a permanent home. I liked her vibrant spirit. It was fun to find out more about her daily and nightly activities. I liked this idea a lot and read the story in one sitting.Kathryn Berla has a wonderful captivating writing style. I especially like her vivid descriptions of each main character, their surroundings and their thoughts, dreams and emotions. The result is a well balanced and enchanting story filled with interesting dialogue and unexpected moments. Dream Me is fascinating in many different ways and each detail is exactly as it should be. I love a good time travel story and this book definitely falls into that category. It's creative, compelling and romantic.

Great read!
Dream Me by Kathryn Berla is the story of two people that are the true definition of star crossed. Babe is the daughter of a golf pro which means that she moves around a lot. She is once again the new girl in town of Sugar Dunes. With her dad working as the golf pro hand her mom working in the golf shop it was only natural for her to get a job at the country club to. Her summer is shaping up to be fairly average with a new best friend and a job she actually really likes, then she starts having recurring dreams about a guy that seems to be about her age. A guy named Zat.Zat is from the future. Unfortunately the Earth isn’t exactly hospitable to the human race anymore. Most people, his family included, have decided to leave with no real idea of where to go. Zat has another plan. He decides to use some untested technology and send his mind backward into the past and live life through the dreams of another. He chose Babe to live inside of.The attraction between these two characters is electric. So much so that Babe soon finds herself craving the nightly visits with the person that is quickly stealing her heart. Unfortunately these dream meetings come with a price. Every morning Babe wakes up more and more tired, and with increasingly painful headaches. How can these two young lovers be together when it brings Babe so much pain?I could hardly believe it myself but I actually really enjoyed this book. All of the characters, not just the main ones, were believable and interesting. They really made the book come alive for me and drew me into a type of book that isn’t really my kind of thing. I have to give this book a five star rating for that alone.

... Me by Kathryn Berla is a young adult insta love story with I bit of science fiction thrown in
Dream Me by Kathryn Berla is a young adult insta love story with I bit of science fiction thrown in.Zat is from a future where earth is almost destroyed. He dreams of a red haired girl. This turns out to be Babe who lives in present day earth and has just moved house. Zat begins, by some sort of time travel method, to appear in Babes dreams and they connect deeply. This book has an intriguing plot line and I feel the book may of been a bit too short for something so big and unique. I enjoyed the writers style and the relationships created within the story, particularly Babe and Mais friendship. The story of Babe and her moving to a new place and meeting new people was very gripping and would of been a great story by itself I feel. These are the type of characters I think I would like to read a series of books about. I would've liked to have learned more about some of the background characters as they all seemed really interesting. The descriptive and narrative aspects of this book are written well and make for easy reading so you can just absorb the story.I am intrigued by this author and would like to read more by her. If you like meeting characters that make you chuckle and make you feel like you know them, then this book will serve you well.

A loved the concept of this book
Dream me is a story about a girl called Babe who dreams at night of a boy called Zat, but each dream she has feels like they are becoming real.Babe is a girl who is constantly the new girl, he father is a golf pro and travels around the country finding jobs in Country Clubs to support his family. Babe has never real seen the outside world other that through the eyes of the Country Clubs she has been a part of. She is a strong character and makes friends easily.Zat is none is his world as a dreamer, instead of wanting to space travel like the majority of people on his planet, he has always been fascinated with the world of time travel. His Uncle with his family are all set to space travel but Zat is awaiting his date. This story is written in quite a few per of the main characters which sometimes becomes a bit confusing. You will have a chapter where Babe is writing her blog, then you get a point of view of them together in the dream state, then you get Zat’s point of view. I really like the idea of the time traveller and him being attracted to Babe and her experiences but I thought it did not gel together very well. Although this was a distraction from the book I enjoyed the premise of the book and that the idea was intriguing which made me read on through the book.

Beautiful, Imaginative Futuristic Fantasy Read!
In a time in the distant future, where humans can no longer dream and all that remains of Earth is desolate wasteland. Residing in the distant future is Zat, where he dreams of what earth use to be, how beautiful its surroundings were and a fiery beauty called Babe. Zat decides against better judgement and decides to travel back in time to be able to live in Babe’s dreams.Babe is always the new girl; her father’s job is what causes her family to constantly move around the country. But all Babe wants now is a place to settle and finally call home. Finally, the family settles in the sleepy town of Sugar Dunes, Florida, but soon enough Babe begins to have dreams of a green-eyed boy called Zat, and if things are not any weirder night after night these dreams occur and Babe gets to show Zat her world, but these dreams are beginning to pay a price, every morning Babe is awoken with crippling migraines. Slowly Babe’s life outside of her dream world begin to fade and pale in comparison to the life she is leading in her dreams along with the growing love for Zat and their time they spend together. With Babe’s pain continually increasing due to the time they spend together, Zat starts to questions what his existence really means, and whether he can actually live a life without Babe in it if its only in their dreams? But can their dreams finally become a reality?Dream Me is a stand-alone novel by Kathryn Berla, this is my second read by this author and I will be defiantly being on the lookout for more of her books to read. This book did take me a while to get into it, but eventually I got caught up into this great epic, Dystopian/futuristic fantasy read that was romantic and adventurous. It was short, sweet, gets straight to the point and is just a genuine heart-warming read. I liked the plot of this book, and how these characters found each other and didn’t use the usual ways of finding out things about each other. It was a totally unique read. This was visually beautiful, I could visualise this as I read it and it completely captured me into this post-apocalyptic yet real read. This book covers a variety of subjects that are portrayed in different ways in which Kathryn Berla writes them so that the situations at brought forward in subtle yet powerful ways.I liked the different types of POVs we got through this book we got understand and learn about Zat’s world and how things are there for him. But we also got two different POV’s from Babe, I loved reading her everyday life POV but her POV’s from her blog writing really intrigued me, it was an easy going read and wasn’t heavy, the story flowed but I found as though I was missing things. Babe’s characters were well developed and I liked reading about her, her friends and their backstories. But with Zat’s characters I always felt as though something was missing from him and I can’t point out what was missing, but it didn’t take away from the compelling imaginative read. Even through all this, the bond and connection that Zat and Babe makes together is strong, loveable and unforgettable. On another note, I loved the ending that was given and I am thoroughly routing for Zat & Babe. This is a beautiful, incredibly imaginative easy read that is filled with love, romance and constant change, but with some great characters that really help set the scenes.

A thought provoking read. 4 stars!
Dream MeBy Kathryn Berla4 starsI actually found this story really fascinating! I found myself really captivating by Babe and Zat’s story and although this book wasn’t really in a genre that I usually read I enjoyed it. This is the second book however that I have read by this author and I really like her writing style, especially in this book. I liked the mix of POV and blog entries, it helped keep my interest throughout the story. This author clearly has a real talent for writing stories in this genre, her imagination was really good and this shows in her characters. The story was very easy to visualise and this is something I love in a story. I liked the originality of the story which is what captivated me but I did struggle slightly to connect with the characters, both the main and secondary ones. I’m not sure whether they fit in with the idea behind the storyline. Although I didn’t connect with the characters I didn’t dislike them. I admired Babe and her attitude to life. She has clearly adjusted well to being moved around the country and this shines through in her independence. I really liked her relationship with her parents too and also the relationship between both of the parents. Zat was a strange yet intriguing character who you never really get to know all that well, but I enjoyed the interaction between him and Babe during her dreams especially when he was explaining about his life.I think this author really does have a talent for writing unique storylines and I am looking forward to reading more from her in the future.I give Dream Me 4 stars.

Dreams and Hopes
Dream Me by Kathryn Berla is a young adult standalone.Zat lives on Earth but it isn't as we know it. It's the future and Earth is dying, so people are leaving in the hope of finding a better life somewhere else. Zat turns his back on the most popular route and decides that time-travel is the option that interests him the most. He selects the past and a time when Earth was green and people still dreamed. Plans are brought forward when a life threatening incident occurs and he doesn't get chance to say his goodbyes, especially to his uncle who is the only family member left on Earth. He now lives in Babe’s dreams and nobody knows what the future (or past) holds for Zat?Babe is used to restarting her life in new places as she and her family move from city to town due to her father's career. She's just landed in Sugar Dunes, Florida and is upset to have left behind the life she had built in California, complete with boyfriend. As she starts to find her way around Sugar Dunes and build herself a new life, she experiences dreams that leave her with painful migraines but she lives for those dreams as they involve Zat who makes them so much better. She shares her life in Sugar Dunes and the dreams with her blog readers but who is the mysterious ‘DreamMe' who keeps commenting?“What a wonderful thing it is to dream. To live out random and fantastical experiences every night. He knew dreams could be terrifying, but he also knew they could be magical.” - ZatIt was the blurb that drew me to this book by Kathryn Berla who is a new author to me. I loved the whole idea of time-travel and being able to visit people in their dreams. I was excited to read this story but then made the mistake of reading some of the reviews on Goodreads and became unsure if I was going to enjoy this book. I'm so glad that I gave it a chance because I enjoyed it throughout and didn't find any of the issues that other reviewers have commented on. My advice would be to give this book a chance and see for yourself if it's good or not. Don't be swayed by the reviews as everyone is different and just because some didn't like it, doesn't mean you won't.As I've already mentioned, I loved the whole concept created by Kathryn Berla and she didn't fail to deliver. I loved how the story built and we got to see both POVs; Zat and Babe. I also loved how she included Babe’s blogs as a way to show the story and make it different from so many of the other sci-fi books out there. This book left me thinking because I do believe it's possible that Earth could eventually become as Zat knew it and what would our options then be? Will we have the chance to escape or will we be stuck on Earth slowly dying along with it? It's something that blows my mind but I know I won't ever face in my lifetime.Zat was brave when he decided to follow his dreams and walk away from the future he could have. His choices made him appear strange to others and he was left feeling like he didn't belong. Zat proved that hope doesn't have to die and it's important to follow your own plan even if others don't agree. Babe also showed strength as she rebuilt her life time and time again. That wasn't an easy thing to do but she always found the ability to take chances and allow people into her life knowing that she'd probably never see them again a few months later.I'm so glad that I read Dream Me by Kathryn Berla and I recommend that readers download this book and give it a chance also.
