お値打ちになっていて、年末年始に見ようとオーダー。２９日夜注文３１日昼には到着。早く届いて嬉しいです。しかも舞台石川県の限定パッケージ。（紙を裏返すと通常バージョン）内容は、殺陣もなく、いかにもな時代劇ではなく、内容紹介の通りそろばんの技で父・息子（主人公）・孫が江戸から明治へ時代が移り変わっても、生き抜いていく姿が中心。武士の見栄や親の道楽でいつの間にか父と息子の年収を超える借金を背負った家を継いだ主人公の、見栄を捨てて無駄を徹底的に省き、しかし息子の教育には今の時代から見ると厳しすぎるほど熱心な姿。ついに借金を完済し、ゆとりのある生活になっていき、時代が明治になっても孫はそろばん（経理）の腕をかわれて生き抜いていく・・・。主人公の生き方は今の時代につながるものがあると思います。仲間由紀恵さんの控えめで奥ゆかしい妻役と、主人公堺雅人さんの派手ではないけど目で語る演技が秀逸でした。

原作は小説ではなく歴史解説書ですが、うまく人間ドラマとして構成されていました。幕末にかけての金沢藩の下級武士が如何にして生き抜いたか、言わば変わることも恐れなかったそろばん侍の姿に心打たれます。

堺雅人さんの演技がいい！淡々としている日常が描かれていて、息子が父を理解できないで反発する。それでもラストは淡々とした映像で終わります。いい映画です。
