Great Cthulhu Play Resource - Old L.A.
I really like this world building player book. - It's packed with real-life 1920-1930 L.A. photos and mini factoids. For me, font size and 2 column layout was good for easy lookup. Includes old DTLA, Hollywood, Culver City Screenland, Beverly Hills and beaches. The maps helped me determine logical and unusual historical locations for Cthulhu connections or even portals. Lots of cool facts on historical figures and stars. Book includes 2 "Cthulhu Scenario" chapters.

Enjoy this. B&W though softcover.
I like it. B&W. Good materials. Not from LA, not LA Historian. But I like it and materials usable adaptable for many settings, campaigns.

Secrets of Los Angeles
I enjoyed this book immensely; the history and early photos were enjoyable and brought back many memories of my trip there some years ago. The book is very handy for role-playing because of the amount of background information given and the ideas for new adventures. Being that many of the sites are still there, it can also be used in a modern-day adventure also. Lots of maps, diagrams, and old photos are included to extend the use of this book.

Maps Galore!
What I like most about this supplement are the maps. There are lots of them; they are clearly printed, detailed without being cluttered, and don't include adventure-specific information, making them suitable for use as player handouts. Every location (and there are hundreds of them) detailed in the supplement has a unique reference number used in the text and maps, so it's easy to find what you're looking for. In this respect the supplement stands head and shoulders over earlier entries in the series (such as Secrets of New York and Secrets of San Francisco). What lets it down (and denies it a five-star rating) are the adventures. There are only two of them and while competently executed they are both quite short and unoriginal. So don't buy this for the adventures. Buy it if you want to run a campaign in LA and intend to write your own adventures or already own a number of adventures set in LA (although, outside of this book, the Hollywood chapter of Shadows of Yog Sothoth is the only published LA adventure I'm familiar with).

West Coast Campaign essential.
The perfect balance of Mythos and factual history.Ridiculous amount of maps, be in wide-scale or interiors! Perfect product to help create an LA campaign. Together with the Secrets of San Francisco sourcebook, a keeper could create a long lasting west coast storyline with plenty of rich locales, NPCs and Mythos madness.
