Make your DIY work professionally plumb, level, straight, aligned.
Extremely nice tool, very easy to figure out and use. Being into photography, I have all sorts of tripods, which makes it easy to get the horizontal level lines to whatever level I need. The green lines are plenty bright indoors, you don't need to wait for dim lighting to use it. A professional carpentry crew with a Bosch red plumb laser was happy to use this, to not have to mark screw locations on each of 19 stair treads on 4 stringers. They just put each screw on the green line I threw with this along the center of each stringer, only having to measure spacing from the risers. The self leveling seems dead on, though I will check it over a long distance with a water level before using it to level an ancient floor. 16 lines vs 12 didn't matter much to me, but the price difference was small, so what the heck, I went for 16. It does save that amount of tripod height travel at some point, and gets a line that much closer to both a floor and ceiling rather than just one of them. The batteries charge well. I never even needed to swap the 2nd battery in during a day of significant use. Having a nice case to organize and protect the laser and its accessories, is a good thing, too.Getting everything plumb, level, and straight is very easy with this, and can change your work from looking obviously DIY to looking obviously professional. Things like leveling and aligning art, cabinets, shelves, outlet boxes, door jambs, and everything else, are trivially easy with this.UPDATE November 20, 2023 (16 months after my review above). Laser, batteries, and charger are all still working like new. It has gotten a lot of use for more things than you can imagine, and I don't even mind that the price has dropped by about a third since I bought mine. Tempted to by a second one just in case I ever break mine, or lose any of my batteries. Plus, I've run across a few uses where having two would be great, like where it would be useful to throw two parallel lines on a floor or ceiling, any distance apart that you want, while making the perpendicular lines coincide. That could be useful for things like measuring the thickness of a wall between two rooms that can't be seen from each other, or transferring lines from upstairs to downstairs by making a second line drop through a stairway or open space, then move one downstairs to coincide, then move the other downstairs to make the parallel line duplicating the first upstairs one at the same distance. So many things this thing can be used for. You can do it all with one of these lasers, if you're willing to put the laser line on marks, rather than on another laser line. Having 2 would just avoid having to mark or place something there (I often use little shiny supermagnets as marks).

Product box was damaged but shipping box was fine. Seemed used
The product box was damaged. The shipping box was fine so I assume this was packed damaged. It does have a hard case on the inside that wasn't damaged so that was good. unfortunately, the hard case was dirty. some of the pieces in the case were also dirty.Otherwise, the level and other components seemed to work well. It's more stable at leveling than the levels with the standard pendulum. Those can be all over the place if there's any shaking and they aren't as fast at settling down after being movedSome flat metal pieces in the case might be a bit too sharp. I'd be careful.Seller addressed issues with original purchase.

No Bad, Suffers from very poor instructions
Review of OMMO 16 line level Model No OM-LL05. Paid about $100 for it on Amazon.Set up was relatively intuitive. I have used laser levels before. The written instruction booklet for this one is very limited. The manual doesn't explain SLASH mode at all. Found info on the Amazon page for this unit under the MORE link.I tried doing research on the unit on YouTube (where I usually get all my answers about these kind of things). My research discovered that there are TONS of units like this from a lot of sources with Chinese brand names. I could not find a useful video for my unit - the OMMO 16 line level. Based on my initial setup and use of this unit, I don't think it is any worse than the rest I looked at. Seems like there is really one manufacturer and a number of sellers each with their own brand name. Also, rapid upgrades in things like carry cases, batteries and chargers. The basic accessories seem to be pretty much standard in all versions. Also, there are no written instructions for the short tripod. The adjustable legs are obvious. But there are three other adjusting knobs lacking information. I discovered that the one at the top of the center column is for rotating the upper base holding the level "box" to get it exactly where you want it for the vertical lines on floor and ceiling. The two knobs on the next lower level and near two of the legs are a mystery. I thought they might be for micro-adjusting the front-back and left-right level of the lower base (after the individual legs are set up). However, I couldn't discern any noticeable movement in the base height in these directions as the knobs were turned. So, I still have no clue about the purpose of these knobs. The 16 lines are pretty much the max you can ask for. They appear to be fairly bright (and with a two level brightness adjustment. I didn't try measuring for accuracy because I don't need that much accuracy and have no real means to verify the alignment beyond simple woodworking tools over very short distances (<36 inches). The provided remote is not typical of many of the similar units. The typical remote has three buttons for specific laser level functions. This one has generic buttons 1-10. The instruction manual tries to explain what each button is for. As noted above, the SLASH function is reserved for 3 and 4, apparently to lock out/in self-leveling so you can manually set an inclined line - like for a stairway - without the self-leveling alarm going off. Button 1 says it is the Level Control Switch. It is really the Horizontal control switch. Button #1 is for the horizontal level lines and Button #2 is for the vertical level lines. Unfortunately, the legend for button 1 is not understandable. But, transfer the concept and functioning for button 2 to button 1 and you should have a better understanding. DON"T LOSE THE INSTRUCTION MANUAL. It may not be worth much, but it's all you've got! And, for referencing the remote functions, you should keep it handy.Button 10 is said to be ALL ON/OFF. But, it doesn't seem to be a power button in the conventional sense. It seems to rapidly cycle through all the line setup options. I don't think it turned the unit off. I know it did not turn the unit on.One of the challenges is fitting the components back into the EXCELLENT plastic case. I managed to figure it out and I've uploaded pics of the storage solution. (One of the batteries is stored attached to the laser level unit.) For long-term storage, this is not such a great idea. Better to just toss it in the case loose rather than risk it leaking inside the unit during storage. The little hanging bracket that is attached to the beam extending from the magnetic wall mount is stored attached and under the beam. the battery charger is also stored under the beam (wall prongs up). The power cord for the battery charger can lie under the beam also, or it can be pulled to the surface of the foam liner and wrapped around the various components. The huge variety of these almost identical lasers, their various upgrades and different versions and the radical pricing differences is daunting. Discerning the real differences may be challenging. I couldn't even find the unit I bought the next day on Amazon using search. The only way I found it was to look up my orders and click on it. It's a confusing array of products!

Exactly what I needed
This little laser level is amazing for the price. It has all of the features of levels that have a much higher price tag. This has come in handy for many more projects that I had expected. From installing ceiling mount storage in my garage to hanging cabinets in the laundry room. It self levels and provides 3 very clear lines across the whole space. I wish I had one of these years ago.

Product is as described. Easy set-up, easy to use. Used this for framing and for a drop ceiling. Huge time saver. Very accurate. Had great results with both framing and drop ceiling. Excellent tool for the money. Recommend this for anyone that needs straight and level points of reference.
