A very powerful laptop, not just for gaming.
I'm not a gamer and just need a powerful laptop for Lightroom, etc too professional photos. This fits the bill very well. The Nvidia RTX4070 simply powers through anything I throw at it, the I9 CPU is no slouch either. Coming with 32gb of ram, means I don't have any bottlenecks and the 1TB of NVME leaves me with plenty of storage for now. A second NVME slot is available for future use, when required. The keyboard lighting can be controlled by the installed Alienware app (with all kinds of funky lighting available) which I've just chosen a soft glow for evening sessions. I can't say there is any bloatware installed, as everything I've seen is required (apart from Microsoft's insistence on trying to foist Office 365 on me).All in all, I'm happy with this laptop and expect to be using this for some time.Although some may find this laptop a bit too bulky (and it's power supply weighs as much as the laptop does!), I'm not going to be moving around with it that much, so it's not an issue to me.The only issue I have is that the keyboard layout is awkward and requires a bit of learning as some keys ( the @ and the / keys spring to mind) are not where you expect then to be. Other that that, I've not encountered any other issues, however minor. This is s well made, highly recommended laptop.

Dell G15 5530 (RTX 4060) - Great gaming laptop but missing features and VR capability.
I have been using the Dell G15 5530 for just over a month now. I have found the desktop and gaming performance to be fantastic, it has run every recent AAA game I've thrown at it with stable framerates at minimum above 60 FPS. I connect the laptop to my 4k 120hz gaming monitor but run it at 1440p due to my monitors limited HDMI 2.0 port, however this laptop can do 4K 120HZ as it has a HDMI 2.1 port. You are able to upgrade the RAM and the SSD ports, I personally upgraded both for future proofing and because I personally find 512GB of storage to be too low for gaming these days.Pros:- Great gaming performance, even when on stock 16GB ram.- Alienware command centre is a simple piece of software and allows me to modify performance with ease.- My dell provides all the updates it needs and automatically installs them without hassle, even BIOS updates whilst working together with Windows update.- Nice screen with decent brightness and colours for a mid tier gaming laptop.- Decent enough ports, however this is a plus and a con (see below).Cons:- Cannot properly run VR headsets. The USB-C displayport does not connect to the Nvidia GPU, it only runs off onboard Intel graphics which does not provide enough power to run VR games at good framerates. You might be able to run very old VR titles at 40-60 FPS but this is not very optimal. A real shame.- Slight overheating issues. I've been running heavy games at 1080p and 1440p for as long as I have owned the laptop. I have the laptop on a flat surface with the back not raised (This can lower temps by a further 1-2C). I have had a blue screen one time which followed by having difficulty booting Windows, shutting down and waiting two minutes then starting back up solved this and everything has gone back to normal. I have since bought a laptop cooler to hopefully prevent this issue from ever occuring again, however this should not be a requirement....though maybe I could unlucky.- Battery brick is huge and might not be good for people who travel a lot, also battery life isn't ideal but I always plug in so not an issue for me.All in all, a worthy purchase if the cons do not concern you.

Value for money and high performance
After owning this laptop for less than a week I'm already impressed. From the first time switching it on, it was updated and ready to go within 40 minutes. The keys are responsive and feel nice - this may seem random but a responsive keyboard that feels secure is important and shows a sign of quality. So far I've only tested mid level python programming and it is seem less - the fan doesn't need to kick in at all. Multi tasking is is effortless. It will be interesting to game on when I've got the time.In all honesty, the spec is overkill for what I need it for however there are no regrets. The build quality and performance speaks volumes. I'd highly recommend this laptop for its current price.I opted for the 13th gen i7 with 16gb ram.

Overpriced and cheap plastic housing
I made the mistake of purchasing the Dell G15 5530 15.6-inch FHD 165 Hz Gaming Laptop with an Intel Core i7-13650HX processor, and I cannot express how disappointed I am with this purchase, especially considering the exorbitant price tag, even during the Black Friday sales.Firstly, the build quality is shockingly poor. The laptop's reliance on cheap plastic not only gives it a bulky and unattractive appearance but also makes it feel like a relic from the past. It's disheartening to see Dell compromise on the build of a gaming laptop, a device that should be robust and durable to withstand gaming sessions. The decision to place the network port on the left side instead of at the rear is a baffling oversight. This leads to cable clutter and inconvenience, disrupting what should be a seamless gaming setup. It's a basic ergonomic flaw that one wouldn't expect from a brand like Dell. However, what truly makes this purchase regrettable is the disgustingly high price, especially considering it was supposedly discounted during Black Friday. The laptop fails to justify its cost with its lackluster build and design. There are far superior gaming laptops available in the market at a fraction of the price, offering better performance and a more modern aesthetic. In conclusion, the Dell G15 5530 is a rip-off, particularly during sales events like Black Friday. Save your hard-earned money and invest in a gaming laptop that not only performs well but also offers a premium build and design. Dell has missed the mark with this model, and I strongly caution potential buyers against falling for the allure of discounts, as the overall value simply isn't there.
