A Robust Action Camera With Unmatched Value
I've been looking for a camera that can survive a bit more cold than the GoPro 12 Black, and much hasn't changed with the 13. I loved the Gopro app, but the camera would always shut down when skiing. I tried the DJI Osmo action 4 but didn't care much for the app. Insta-360... not so much. And the value, again it just isn't there.I never gave much attention to these "budget" cameras like the Akaso, but when I saw this Brave 7 being compared to the Gopro And DJI on Youtube at nearly half the cost on sale, I thought I may as well give it a try. And mind you, I was extremely skeptical. I have always thought you get what you pay for in electronics but guess what, I was wrong. This little piece of equipment is not only robust, but it actually stays on while skiing. Didn't turn off once unless I turned it on and off myself. I didn't try and tuck it away like with the Gopro, worrying that it would get frostbite, lol. This little gem stayed lit the whole day. All I did was change batteries and gave it voice commands, which by the way never failed. And the app??? I'm no tech genius but it's very intuitive and I have had no problems navigating it. Picture quality is right on par with the other 2 as well. This thing is solid, with a hefty, robust build quality that really made me think I had made the right choice. And so far, so good. My only concern is this. What was I thinking by limiting myself to two of the top brands when this little guy is right on par with them and costs $250 less. Out the door cost = $179.99, and that included two batteries and many accessories you don't get with the other two.I feel strongly that this camera is going to fit my needs nicely at a price that's well, quite astonishing if you ask me. It's a real value and given a chance, I think you will come to that conclusion as well. Thank you for taking the time to read my review.

If you break the lens cover glass I have the fix
I've had this camera for a while and it works great for my paragliding flights. I had found the lens cover glass was getting scratched and new ones only available from Akaso. Just recently I pulled the camera out of my bag before a flight to find the glass shattered. So I cleaned the frame and measured it at 30mm. I ordered these glass watch covers and it fits perfect. A tiny bead of T-7000 has it fixed solid.https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0C3B7TWCW?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title

Akaso Reached out to me after posting a bad review
I Originally orderd a Brave 7 from Amazon that was terrible and I wrote a not so complimentary review of the product stating video and audio quality issues.A week or so ago Tara from Akaso reached out to me referencing my review of the Brave 7 I posted on Amazon, she apoligized for the experience i had with the Brave 7 and offered to send me another Brave 7 at no charge. I stated that I was not interested in a Brave 7 but if they wanted to send me the Brave 8, I would accept the newer model. A week went by and I recieved a Brave 8 in the mail today ..... I have to say that Akaso was very generous in sending me a Brave 8 at no charge, Akaso did not tell me what to say and they have no control of what I am posting in this review. The Brave 8 had none of the video quality or sound issues that I experienced with the Brave 7. from a quick test of the Brave 8, the sound was not distorted and the video quality looked good. I compared the Brave 8 to my Gopro Hero 6 the color profile of the Brave 8 is different to the GoPro but few changes to the settings in the Brave 8 I had acceptable results to where I could use both cameras together with minimal differences in color. I want to thank Akaso for changing my mind about their company and blessing me with a Brave 8.

Decent, affordable, functional for amateurs
Purchased for a Florida Nature Coast vacation and regular use while kayaking in Virginia. Audio quality and image stabilization have clearly been improved since earlier reviews. Camera and accessories are easy to use. Battery life was sufficient for short paddles and floats. I only used one with a back up fully charged in case needed. For a little over $100, I'm satisfied with the value based on the good results I got. I accidentally tested the water resistance by knocking it into the channel where I was fishing. Oops. No issues with functionality afterward, and a fun video resulted. Buy the extra accessory packs and waterproof case. All very useful and versatile. I would definitely recommend for an amateur looking for an inexpensive, decent quality action cam.
