This Carbon protector spray was easy to use, with a helpful website for instructions. I applied three coats for full water resistance, focusing on areas that get dirty quickly. It didn’t change the color of my shoes, just made them more even. A little goes a long way, and it even worked on my husband's size 13 shoes! While it takes a few hours to dry between coats, the results are worth it. I’m happy to say this product totally lives up to the hype!

First, I was disappointed when I received the protector spray. According to the image on the seller's page, it was supposed to come in an aerosol can. Instead, it came in a hand pump bottle. I decided to give it a try anyway. I used it on one of my down jackets (size small). Initially, I applied about a quarter of the bottle of water repellent spray evenly on my jacket and waited until the next day to give it a try. Upon the first try, the water repellent showed little to no effect. I then reapplied about the same amount and waited a similar amount of time. The result was a little better. Finally, to achieve effective water repellency, I needed to use about 3/4 of the bottle. When used in a generous amount, the water repellent works very well. Small drops of water simply roll off my jacket.According to the instructions, it needs to be reapplied every 12-15 uses. Therefore, I think one bottle should last you about one season. I misunderstood the size, it was unexpectedly very small. I thought regular spray size, no this is mini size.

I have several pairs of Crocs slip-on shoes made from a khaki colored canvas. (The style is called "Santa Cruz".) They are lightweight and comfortable. Unfortunately due to the light colored canvas, they are also stain magnets. I was rotating in a new pair, so I thought it would be an ideal time to try this shoe protector spray by Collonil Carbon Lab .As suggested, I applied two coats, allowing the first coat to dry for a full day before applying the second. The results were pretty amazing. I tried to pour a small amount of water on them and the water just beaded up and rolled off like on a freshly waxed car. With that level of water resistance, they will also be stain resistant. Also, it does not appear the breathability of the fabric has been impacted.The manufacturer, A German company in business for over 100 years, recommends retreating the fabric after wearing 12-15 times.All said, I am quite impressed with the performance of this shoe protector spray and will be trying more of their products.
