This blade size requires practice so as to not nick your dog while grooming. It is very effective at cutting down to the minimal size but, you have to be careful as the blade can nick the dog easily.

Why did you pick this product vs others?:These work great. They cut so much better than regular blades. I have Maltese shizhu pups and this is perfect. Gently cuts thru the toughest fur!

review based on human use not petsPurchased the medium cutter since the stock Cryonyx blade had less teeth (same # as the coarse cutter).SHARPNESS:stock blade would sometimes tug on hair if doing passes too quickly (nothing drastic enough to cause pain & an easy fix by adjusting your technique). But the ceramic blade cuts through like butter. This could be due to the increased number of teeth. More teeth allowing less hair to comb through, meaning less power necessary to cut, giving the illusion of an easier cut. However, the increase in teeth does mean less hair gets taken down and more passes will be necessary. But imo not enough passes that it will slow down your work flow. On the plus side, it will blend like a charm making your tool more fun to use for fades.SIZE:Compared to the Topaz/Fast Feed cutter blade, it is virtually identical in size. certain parts are thicker but will fit in snug and will work. The blade height is the same so these blades will not "true zero gap" your clippers. You will have to adjust your zero gap by some other method (as i did) or find a different blade with a longer profile. I did not have to sand down any parts as some people had to.SOUND/NOISE:Noticeably louder even when lubricated generously. actually really loud when compared to stock, because stock was virtually silent. However, still considered quiet when compared to other clippers.HEAT:Heat was not an issue to begin with. Stock blade would only get warm at max, even after extended use. The ceramic blade feels the same. maybe it cools faster. but no way to really measure. Actually, i wouldn't be surprised if someone argued it got a little bit warmer faster when compared to the black cryonyx blade, since it is louder there is obviously more friction happening. But as far as i can tell, no improvement.OVERALL:this is a worthy investment. The online prices make the value definitely worth a try. I would recommend this to anyone to try it for themselves since it's so cheap. Although the sound is a down side, and the increase amount of teeth may be a downside depending on the hair type being cut, it will come down to personal preference. I will say that the upgrade for FastFeeds is definitely overrated especially if you get the coarse cutter, there will probably little to no difference. But as i said, it comes down to personal preference and is definitely worth a try at the price.

I initially bought another off brand 4FC blade and it was complete garbage and had to return. This blade is the same great quality of the other Andis blades I’ve bought over the years. Gives my very curly doodle a nice velvety coat at this length that doesn’t require brushing. Perfect length for my pup that loves to play outside and get dirty! Easy to swap from one blade to the next and fits my clippers just right (AG2), doesn’t heat up quickly, work great! Glad I spent the extra few dollars for the name brand, definitely worth the money.

This is the one you need if you are looking to put a ceramic blade on the cordless oster fast feed! The other ceramic blades for oster fast feed (measured by the corded version) are too big for the cordless fast feeds but this one fits perfectly!
