I haven't had the time to read book yet but it is clearly comprehensive, very well illustrated and filled withinformation new to me. I know my eleven year old grandson, visiting next weekend, will find it totally absorbing.He is a railroad fan, as am I.

The modern era (post-privatization) is very short (too short ?).

A very good book that lives up to its title.( But .....Being a huge Flying Scotsman fan I could only find a couple of lines about the most famous locomotive in the world. How famous does it need to be mentioned?) A great buy.

It arrived on time but the book jacket was a bit creased at the edges and corners which is a shame because I intended it as a gift.
