Book was in excellent condition...better than expected.Naruto is the on going saga in Japanese Anime that has captivated and started both my teenagers interest in this & they still continue to enjoy reading these books over and over again, even if one of them is now in their 20s. Would definitely rate the Naruto Anime series for anyone interested in this genre.

Naruto, Vol. 8: Life-And-Death Battles sees Naruto, Sakura, and Sasuke apparently at the tower with the Heaven and Earth scrolls they need, but Sasuke is cursed. Orochimaru left a mark on his neck that gives Sasuke fantastic powers. Orochimaru hopes to mold Sasuke into his minion and, should he survive the curse, his successor. After barely surviving the second exam, can they complete the third exam where the 20 remaining competitors face off in one-on-one battles?I liked a lot of things about this volume. I liked wondering what the matchups are going to be, I liked wondering whether Sasuke will be a major enemy of Naruto later on, and I liked wondering what Gaara's role in all this is. The highlight of the volume is the kunoichi battle and the surrounding story. Once again, Sakura and her story at the end make this volume great. And once again, the volume ends in a cliff hanger the resolution of which I cannot wait to read. ****3/4
