Stunning animation and epic new villains highlight the first new Dragon Ball Z feature film in seventeen years! Beerus, the God of Destruction, travels to Earth in search of a good fight. Only Goku, humanity’s greatest hero, can ascend to the level of a Super Saiyan God and stop Beerus’s rampage! Includes both the 85 minute Theatrical Cut and the 105 minute Director’s Cut. Both versions include the English and Japanese dubs and English subtitles. Following the events of the Dragon Ball Z television series, after the defeat of Majin Buu, a new power awakens and threatens humanity. Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods
Having been a fan of Dragon Ball and watched all the episodes growing up, I knew what to expect. Stunning animations, epic fight scenes. Back then Dragon Ball had set the standard for fighting in anime. How does this film compare to TV show. I feel as though this improves upon the standard set by the TV show and still has all the charm from the series as well as the fighting. The story is set after the events of the majin buu saga, when Beerus the god of destruction wakes up and begins looking for a super-saiyain god. Which leads him to Earth. I'm not going to go into to much detail as it will spoil it. Something happens which causes Beerus to become angered and wants to destroy the world. This leads to the battles with the Z fighter, Piccolo, Vegeta, Gotenks, and mystic Gohan as well as Goku. There are times in this movie where I went OH MY GOD that was awesome!!! That for me makes this film awesome. It captures all that people love about the Dragon Ball series into a film. To be honest I never really went looking for any problems, even watching for the third time I enjoyed it as much as I did the first time. The animation is top notch, the voice acting is awesome, the music gets you into the action. I recommend this film to any Dragon Ball fan, you won't regret watching it.

The real Dragon Ball makes a comeback
Some of you may have seen Dragon Ball's many theatrical films, heard about this one and thought: it's probably the same style. It is not.For the first time, original manga author Akira Toriyama is personally writing the story for a Dragon Ball movie. And it shows. The character's true personalities from the manga finally shine through in a feature film. It's a joy to watch. Just don't expect a lot of action. While there is a bit, namely towards the end, this is more original Dragon Ball than Dragon Ball Z, with more emphasis on the comedic, light-hearted side of the characters and story. But you won't regret it. If you're mostly a fan of the original manga, you owe it to yourself to get this movie.I didn't watch the English-dubbed version, so I can't comment on that one, but the Japanese version is as you'd expect it'd be. Apart from the ones that have already passed away, all of the original actors are back (and I mean ALL of them - even the ones that play characters with a mere one line - like Chaozu) and their performance is, as usual, impeccable. I relished seeing Shigeru Chiba and his hilarious voice back as Pilaf. When I say it's a joy to watch, I mean it.The 4-star rating is due to just one thing. Whether you listen to the English or the Japanese version of the movie, both theme songs are the English versions, not the Japanese ones. Which kinda sucks for fans that are already accustomed to hearing the ending theme (CHA-LA HEAD CHA-LA) in Japanese. I mean, how hard could it have been for Toei to provide both versions?...

One of the best Dragon Ball movies to date.
It's been a long time since series creator Akira Toriyama has had anything to do with Dragon Ball and after around two decades of absence it is great to see him return to this series. Battle Of Gods is one of the best Dragon Ball movies to date, with excellent animation, voice acting, jokes and of course fight scenes, Dragon Ball has never looked so good. I highly recommend this to any Dragon Ball fan and I highly anticipate the next movie being released on DVD and the upcoming new series, Dragon Ball Super.

Goated
This is the show back in the 90s that got me into anime and the fact it’s still going now is insane, honestly it will always be one of the greatest for me mainly for nostalgia…. It’s a great movie, definitely worth a watch or 2.

They just keep getting better
An amazing and fun to watch movie from Dragonball Z, i'd recommend this to any and everyone who like or loves Dragonball or Dragonball Z as you see characters from both story's inside this massive one, you do also get the feeling of what the title of this movie meens by the words "Battle Of Gods" with one of the main characters looking abit like an Egyptian god.So much fun in one movie and it amazes me how they get them to be even better after the last one.Well worth the price and time you pay to watch it as this is a incredible movie

Fantastic!
I grew up watching Dragon Ball Z and I loved it so much that even now I watch it, I just had to own all the series on DVD and to now finally have a brand new release from DBZ was so exciting! As I ordered this I was hoping it would do the original series justice after all these years and by God it definitely did. It was so refreshing with the brilliant new graphics and effects but the originality was still there with the voice actors and the humour. This truly is a MUST HAVE for any DBZ fan!
