Hi, The one I received is Mini USB as shown in the amazon picture, I bought it for the connection of a TomTom sat nav. The Mini has angled sides The Micro USB has rounded sides as you rightly observed. It seems the description is incorrect. It works very well by the way. Hope this helps.
