Excellent, Must-Read Book for HR / Benefit Design Professionals
As a 30-plus year HR professional responsible for 401(k)/403(b) plans over the years, I wish I would have had a book like this to assist me in helping my employers offer a better retirement plan design along with the necessary employee education on the importance of investing in the plan. I appreciate Troy’s acknowledgement of the recent pandemic’s impact on employees’ lives and his behavioral science expertise to recognize the need to balance people, purpose and profits. I have been fortunate to work in organizations that had a keen sense of purpose for loving and taking care of their people. I have seen first-hand the financial struggles of many employees and this book made me realize how crucial it is to have effective communication about how their 401(k) plan can help them retire financially healthy. Troy points out that the employer’s goal is to have enough people saving enough money so that everyone retires on time, and with dignity, and the benefits of the organization having them do so. And a great reminder that 401(k) plans need to bear fruit by helping people retire better. I highly recommend this book as a must-read for anyone who has any responsibility for a retirement plan within their organization.

One of the Best (If not the Best)!
This was my jumping-off point for transitioning to qualified retirement plans for my business. From beginning to end and bottom to top, this is the framework for becoming a retirement plan advisor. (It's also great for sponsors, I'm sure).

For employers and employees alike
Troy is an expert and clearly explaining the benefit of benefits--specifically the 401k plan. This is really a play book for employers. But, I couldn't help but think as i was reading that employees might similarly benefit from a deeper understanding of what drives employers to develop and offer competitive benefit packages. Good info for all involved in this complicated and critical retirement saving system of ours!Mary Kay
