I bought these lights for my 4 foot aquarium, I did have fluorescent ones but my plants weren't doing too well. I read some of these LED lights don't go deep enough to make a difference for them, but this set specifically say for plants and marine. The difference is amazing! They are so bright, and they can be switched between white and blue. I think the blue is specifically for the marine tanks but still looks great at night in my tropical. These lights come in various lengths, and they have a extendable bar either side for a good fit. I had to take the lid off my tank for it to fit as they fit above the rim on the top and rest on either side of the tank. So if you have jumpy fish, it might not be suitable for your tank. It suits me as living in Tenerife, the tank goes a bit too warm in the summer, so this has helped keep the temperature normal. The size I ordered was the nearest to my size tank, i.e. up to 46 cms long. The light isn't that long, but the arms pull out as I said and are adjustable. I would say there is about 6 ins either side of the light where the arms stretch across. It is fine though as the light doesn't diminish at the sides and is very bright throughout. There are some blue lights on with the day white setting, and this makes any of my fish with blue (neons etc) really stand out. I am really pleased with this item and would highly recommend it.

Red red Thursday evening, arrived well wrapped and in good condition on Saturday, so usual excellent service. The light itself is outstanding. It is not as feature packed as the Fluval EcoBright with no remote or multiple programmes', however it is bright. The light spread is very even with no blank areas within my 100*36*40cm tank. The light is slim and attractive to look at. The supports are a little stiff to move at first, but do the job of supporting the light very well. It is a slimline unit that sits only a few centimetres high off the top of the tank. It can feel warm to the touch after being on, but not hot. The unit has one switch, three settings; Off, white and blue led on and blue only led on. There is no option to have just white led on, but I really don't see this as an issue. The power cable is securely attached and a good length. Overall build quality appears to be excellent. Given that the recognised brands are at least 40% plus more expensive for the 100cm unit it is amazing value for money, and highly recommended.

This is a very neat product. However, I have a 320 litre tank which is 44" long, 24" tall and 18" deep and in order to get the desired lighting effect and enough light to sustain plant growth I had to buy two of these units. I was very surprised when the 2nd unit arrived, to find it is slightly different to the first. The first unit had the the on / off rocker switch on the end of the light unit and seems to be well water proofed. The second unit though, had the on / off rocker switch inline on the cable and doesn't appear to be water proofed at all. This didn't really matter to me, as I have the units on timers and rarely need to get to the switches, which has meant I am able to hide the inline switch down the back of the tank away from any water. If however you wanted to use the "moonlight" function, or don't have timers, you would need to have full access to the switch, which if its in the tank hood means it's vulnerable to water / damp, or if its elsewhere its likely to be either unsightly or just awkward to get to. All that said, I have been running the units for about a month now and am very pleased with both the effect in the tank and the plant growth. Even though I needed to buy two, they still work out cheaper than many other options.

I love this light! I have included three pictures; One with blue light, One with day light, Both these are the new light. And one with my old light to highlight the difference. This light, lights the tank much better than my previous bulb. We have a 105L community tank. The light has made a big difference to our tank in just a few hours. Would recommend to anyone looking to light their tank more efficiently for a decent, fair price.

Another update: the 2nd replacement unit has now developed an issue where the lights constantly flicker on and off - tried a different power supply but problem persists. With this poor level of reliability I would suggest to look elsewhere. Update: Superb customer service from this company. Light developed a fault and I had visions of the usual hoops I would have to jump through to get something repaired. Instead one email to the supplier explaining the problem who without any fuss sent a replacement free of charge which arrived 2 days later. Fantastic product and fantastic customer service. I have been looking for a sensibly priced LED light to replace my T8s and this light is fantastic. Brighter than my two T8 tubes and half the wattage, plus they should last for a lot longer. Also noticed a spurt in plant growth since installing. Note - you may need to modify your hood depending on the style.

I got the 96-125cm 5730 LED for fish and plants Very pleased with this product very slim light and bright like the way of being able to switch between blue light and white light,the only thing I found was that the actual light switch is not attached to the light bridge unit as in the pictures showing the extension arms.They are actually on a cable which is outside of the tank which for me is a bonus as I have placed mine under the original hood.basically I removed them from the box put across tank plugged in and that was it set up and working.thinking of replacing other units with these if I can get them longer ones

Was originally very please with this light , good light spectrum for fish and plants and low running cost . But only after 6 months the light unit has failed and keeps flickering . So worked out a more expensive option .

The power of the unit is good, better than I expected. The major issue I had was the whole electricity and water thing, if it's to go near water then basic safety details such as a fitting between the wire and the case (it arrived with the insulation just through a hole in the case and the inner insulated wires visible). If this is going to be in the humid air above a fish tank this would be the most basic of requirements.
