Gourmet Basics by Mikasa Linden 16-Piece Dinnerware Set, Service For 4

I am in love with these plates. They are just beautiful! They are stoneware, so if you're looking for something light, keep looking, this item is not for you. The only thing I was a little surprised by was the depth of the bowl. It's a smidge on the shallow and small side. Other than that ... love these!

I ordered these for my wife's birthday about 10 months ago, and we have loved using them. The colors are perfect, and they feel very solid. But tonight, my plate just broke into two pieces. We have been very careful in handling them and did not do anything to cause the fracture -- the plate just cleanly broke into two pieces, almost exactly in the middle.Now I have to figure out how to replace it. I don't want to give the dishes a low review, but this was obviously a deficient product.

Ordered 2 sets, first one arrived broken, got a replacement hassle free. The two sets came with different coffee mug colors on the outside, but I like both. Very beautiful set.

Too gold, love the bowls, they stack nicely. Cups barely hold 10 oz, yet they say 13 oz. Plate arrived chipped.Update: i ordered the Linden design (2 of them). The 1st box i opened is what i reviewed off of, and it was not the item i ordered. It was the Verona design. The linden design was beautiful. Not too gold. However, the cups were still misrepresented as 13 oz, but barely hold 10. Still sending them back and trying a Gibson Brynn design that says 18 oz mugs. Surely that will securely hold 10 oz.

Mikasa is a brand I trust. I purchased my first set over 30 years ago and felt it was time for a new one. I love the warm brown colors, the dimpled pattern gives it an old style feel and the plates are a larger size than expected. I love them!! They arrived quickly and safely and I use them with pride whether for everyday use or more formal occasions.

I love the look of these plates!! They are stunning. Although as another reviewer mentioned, they do break. One came broken in the box. I was not overly worried about the one plate and have not had another break since. I didn't bother to contact customer service about it, so I can't comment on how easy it would be to replace. But the set is definitely gorgeous.
