## Customer Reviews

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Early Days Yet.
*by G***N on 26 April 2018*

I actually grew my Apple tree from a Gala apple pip. I have never tried before and I was told that I could get any sort of apple depending on what the Gala apple root stock it was grafted on. It was about 10 years ago I tried to grow from a pip and to my amazement it started to grow. I nursed it like nursing my own kids :-) and I wouldn't let anyone near it.It took about 7 years to start fruiting but once it did the apples were a lovely red colour and were ready in late September so they were a rather late variety. I tried to find one that had not been infected with the dreaded codling moth but every one was infected. However it did not deter me from trying a piece of apple that was clear of the grub hole.My goodness they were so sweet and very tasty! this will be the 4th year of fruiting and I have tried one of these and also I have used the tree grease to keep the pesky ants breeding thee pesky aphids. The grease is working fine so far but not sure if this trap will work yet but I am keeping my fingers crossed and I will come back later to let you all know.Contrary to what some have said the instructions are very clear and it is not such a messy job. The messy bit is when you unfold the sticky square card because it is very sticky indeed. However just take your time and prize it open carefully. The little green box was easy erect and there are two little holes that maybe you cannot see because they have been punched with a hole puncher leaving the small piece still in the hole but look carefully and you will see where the wire hanger goes.My apple tree is now about 10' high but I will not let it get any higher. I will prune it later this year after it has fruited to keep it down to size.It is a good idea too to not grow anything under the tree and not to let any branches touch another plant, the reason being is those pesky ants will find a way up there to breed the aphids like we breed cattle for food. So I will also be cutting off some of the lower branches as I have got some plants under the tree. Also you need to get any fallen apples and dead plants out of the way as the codling moths will in fact feed on this through the winter. After the harvest of apples please clear every little bit of rotting plants and either chuck them in the garden waste bin or burn them when dry. Better still, don't grow anything under an apple tree and keep the slugs and snails at bay as well as ants with fruit tree grease. It is such a shame we have to go through these measures now all because they have banned so many plant sprays in this country. Malathion was a godsend used properly and is still available in USA and other countries but not here in good old UK.Anyway good luck if you are using this and I will of course come back and let you know the outcome.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Best value for a trap and 2 trap sticky fillers
*by L***Y on 14 March 2025*

This is the best value to get the actual trap and two trap sticky fillers. Bought individually it costs a lot more.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ OK
*by S***A on 7 December 2019*

This was easy to use and set up and it did work to a degree. It caught several coddling moths but I still had apples that were ruined by coddling moth. I think that it lost its effectiveness to attract them too quickly.
