Would this be a good SSD for a steam library

I am using a SSD 500GB different brand on the  2md SATA port only for steam, its much faster than any conventional HDD, games will load much faster and the impact on the system performance is minimal. 1TB can hold a lot of games I never had an issue with the 500GB, worst case is I remove some games I did not touch in a while to clear up space. One TB should give a good amount of space for steam.

Question 2

Is this possible to return disk (unpacked) if computer is not recognised it (not seen as disk present)?

If it's not detected, bear in mind with Windows is that new hard disks don't automatically detected new hard drives out of he box. You have to initialize them in Disk Management first. (Which is really dumb that it doesn't automatically detect a new unformatted drive, but there we are!)

To get the new hard disk up and running: 
* Go to Disk Management (Win + X - then select Disk Management from the menu)
* In the bottom half there should be a list of disks connected (disk 0, Disk 1, Disk 2, etc) which should include your newly plugged in SSD. 
* The new SSD  should show a black bar at the top, and say something like "500GB Unallocated" 
* right-click on this and select "new simple volume"
* Then click Next though all the rest of the menus. The default options should all be okay. Only thing to make sure is on the third page, that a drive letter is assigned.
* Your new SSD should be up and running, and detected in Windows :)

Will this fit a MacBook Pro late 2013?

I had a similar dilemma about whether it would fit a Mac Mini Late 2012. Basically don't bother! Apple refused to do it so I researched it myself and found a perfect solution. I used the IOS formatter for SSDs (not the normal format) then I used Carbon Copy Cloner to clone the main internal disk to the SSD. Next I booted directly from the SSD in an external USB3 SATA caddy and performance jumped to 5 to 10 times. Backed up the new SSD several times and now wiped the internal HD to avoid accidental use and never going back. Feels like a new Mac Mini and for just a £50 upgrade. For portability you might want to use a powered SSD in an external case but hey it's cheaper than an internal disk upgrade done by a third party and certainly cheaper than a new MBP! The only problems I had were a few apps that needed licences reloading.
