Must have for a diabetic dog
We replaced our Alpha Trak 2 with this, when the test strips became difficult to find. It seems relatively accurate when compared to the Alpha Trak 2 readings. It was a little difficult to set up and connect to the app on my phone. Not even sure how I got it to work. Just kept following the instructions repeatedly and after about 30 minutes it finally connected to my phone. It is awesome to be able to track results on my phone. Test strips are expensive, but pretty standard for any meter I guess. Overall pretty pleased.

Meter specific
Make sure you have the AlphaTrak Meter; and if you do, unfortunately these are the only strips that will work in it (That I know of). Expensive, but my pups worth it.

Great product, insane price!
I love my AlphaTrak 3! Works great and no complaints! The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is because I ordered some strips 3 weeks ago and they were 50.00 and some change. I had did a curve last week and needed to order more. When I put them in my cart this time they were 56.00 and some change. I went to grab my check and deposit the money. When I came home and went to actually order them (4 hours later) they had jumped to 59.00 and some change. The price is absolutely insane considering we are also paying for their insulin, syringes and lancet's. We just found out my dog has diabetes and that means we are on a high dose of insulin right now. The price is just too expensive!! But I will do what I need to do for my pup!! And I think these companies know that!!

DO YOU LIVE IN HOT SUMMER CLIMATE OR COLD WINTER CLIMATE? YOU NEED TO READ THIS!
Good product. Now please bear with me. The following is going to be quite cryptic and mysterious in an attempt to get my review past the sensors and posted in an effort to help the rest of you who live is hot climates safely get undamaged, accurate strips. So, I noticed the temperature range on the bottle is 36 to 90 degrees. I live in the desert north of Los Angeles where the summer daytime highs are pretty much at least in the high 90's or much higher every single day from about the last half of June through the first half of Sept. I've spoken to the Amazon delivery guys and know that the cargo areas or their vans are not temperature controlled. I'm guessing the temps in the back of the vans is at least in the high 110's, if not hotter. I called the manufacturer of the test strips, Zoetis, and was told that temp is too high and will damage the strips rendering them inaccurate and possible very dangerous to my cat since she could get too little or too much insulin based on the inaccurate test result. The strips need to have ice packs which are not provided by Amazon. I called the large company that delivers pet food and supplies with the same name as the tall hairy sidekick of the Harrison Ford character (can't remember his name) in the original Star Wars movie. They also don't provide ice packs on the general food and merchandise part of the operation, just dry ice which is waaaaaaaayyyy to cold. The pharmacy side does use icepacks for shipping, but that side doesn't have access to the test strips. I'm trying to get them to either provide icepack on the food side or send the strips and other temperature sensitive items such as probiotics, vitamins, etc. to the pharmacy side. (I would also ask that you also call their customer service and ask them to do the same. That way those of us who need icepacks could get them at no additional charge.) I was finally able to find two websites that use icepacks and 2nd day delivery shipping. Unfortunately, that service costs and additional $30 or so. The first companies name is the 3-letter, one syllable abbreviation for veterinarian plus the 2-letter abbreviation for prescription followed by "direct" plus .com, located in Coralville, Iowa. The second one I found was "alli" followed by the 3-letter, one syllable abbreviation for veterinarian plus .com, located in Miami Lakes, Florida. I know the extra $30 for shipping with ice packs is tough, but the more bottles you can manage to buy at the same time will reduce the cost per bottle. I generally test 3 times every day, so I need about 2 bottles of strips every month. I get SSA and received an unexpected windfall this month, so I'm able to buy at least 4 bottles this time from one of those websites. Hopefully some of you did, too. If you also plan to use one of those companies, make sure you call them to place your order because I don't think they will automatically ship them with ice packs and expedited shipping. Also note the lower end of the temperature range indicated on the strip bottle is 36 degrees. If you live in an area with frigid winter daytime temps., you need to plan ahead to avoid delivery during those times. Good luck in getting safe test strips.

easy to use
these strips have been a godsend, since my fur baby was diagnosed with diabetes . First time order it came so quick and easy to use with the meter that comes with the kit I ordered. I do not understand why the price goes up and down, I live on a budget and I will not lose my Baby because of price, but if I have to I will search elsewhere for it.
