The series that finally got my daughter hooked on reading!
My daughter is 12 and has always been quite reluctant to read fiction on her own. The first Lottie Brooks book completely changed that, and this is now the sixth one she’s read in the series. She absolutely loves Lottie as a character and finds the stories very relatable, the friendships, awkward moments and school dramas really resonate with her age group. She reads these independently and happily picks them up without being prompted, which is something we’ve struggled with in the past. The diary-style format, illustrations and humour make the book feel accessible and fun rather than intimidating, and she often ends up reading more than she planned because she’s so engaged. I’d highly recommend this book (and the series as a whole) to children who enjoy humour and real-life school situations, especially reluctant readers. It’s been a real confidence booster for her, and we’ll definitely continue buying the rest of the series.

I really like the fun quirky characters in Lottie Brooks. I would suggest this book for teens and children over the age of 11. Definitely recommend

My 11 year old daughter is obsessed with Lottie Brooks books! She received the box set for Christmas and asked to use her own money to buy others that didn't come with the original set.

I bought this book for my 11-year-old daughter. She has read many books by this author and loved them, until this one. The story focuses on a 13-year-old girl, and in this book the protagonist’s best friend comes out as gay, and there are references to joining an LGBT group. I believe these topics are not appropriate for children of 11 or 13 years old. I respect everyone’s personal choices, but I do not think this kind of content should be included in books aimed at young readers without clear age guidance. Parents should be aware of these themes before purchasing. Unfortunately, this book was a big disappointment for our family!
