i using this on my wallet, leather products. any long term experience using this profuct? does penetrate iwallet or bag leather ? does prolong life?

I have been using it for years. Does a decent job. Doesn't leave any sticky residue at all. Not for heavy duty leather but more suitable for finer leather products. Give it a try.

Is this safe to use on a mostly unfinished light tan leather Coach handbag?

I would be hesitant using it on a coach bag. Its a great product for leather car interiors but a coach bag is more delicate.

Mequiar's makes some good products, but in this case you'll find Tanner's is a thicker substance, not a watered down spray. It takes less product to apply a thicker coat of protection so you don't have to apply it as often as you would with any of the spray protectants. I should also mention this Tanner's product is just the conditioner, not a cleaners which is a separate product. I'm not a fan of the combined cleaner/conditioner as the end result is not the best and the protection does not last as long.
