Fantastic Product Great Value
I bought this player so I could transfer my movie collection ... I have found it very easy to use and incredibly easy to set up. The player looks good and works just as well ... it plays files easily and comes with the cables supplied ... the size of the hard drive is astounding when you consider the price point ... I have since bought 2 More as gifts for my children .... superb product highly recommended.

Great functional product
Bought this to hold all my media (music, photos & videos) as has a capacious 2TB hard drive. However, soon discovered that FAT32 is the only formatting option for Mac.FAT32 is not ideal as has a maximum file size of 4GB and many movies, especially Blu Ray are larger than that.Luckily I found the perfect solution, that is to format it to ExFAT which is Windows and Mac compatible and has no limitations on file size. The unit itself is a doddle to set-up and has a simple menu system. The picture via HDMI is excellent and it played 99% of files thrown at it. The odd file it can't play (a minority of .wmv files) was easy to convert to a different format. Copying files from my Mac hard disk was also reasonable quick. The only slight downside is that the remote control is not as intuitive and responsive as it could have been. It needs to be precisely pointed at the unit and the buttons need to be pressed hard. This sorted it would be 5 star material.

Well worth the money
I was searching round for a media player to play all types of media. I read up on this and was sceptical at first as one or two said it didn't play a video. However, I didn't need to worry. Connected up no problem to my tv easily enough. Transferring all my data I wanted on it does take time but you don't mind really as once it was transferred it is amazing quality. All blu-ray files are crystal clear and no need to convert videos from HD cameras :) which for me is a bonus with videos from my phone as I was constantly having to convert them to view them on my pc.One thing I would suggest is setting this up near to your pc if you want ease of transferring with the cable provided. However you can copy from a usb stick to the media player easily enough. If you ain't sure, simply look on YouTube for a guide on how it works. Really does help (as the guide provided isn't in great detail).I read some that said the remote doesn't work unless your stood within a metre of it. This is wrong. I can be sat 2-3 metres away from the media play and it works no problem. Remote is easy to use and you can can change the video quality to 1080p easily enough through the settings. For me it is really been worth the money. Amazing in fact :)

This is a great player that can handle all the types of files ...
This is a great player that can handle all the types of files I throw at it including MKV with built in subtitles; once you get over it's problems!!!It only receives 2 stars because of the following....- The internal hardrive is not stable. It would lose connection to the Cyclone Primus half way through a film; and rebooting the Cyclone Primus would not help. My solution was to replace the hardrive with a spare I had. (Incidentally I have placed the hardrive that came with it into my PC and it works fine in there - maybe the issue is with the Cyclone Primus power supply?)- There seems to be a copy/move/paste function on the remote control - if I have a file on a USB memory stick plugged into the Cyclone Primus, then I should be able to copy that file to the internal hardrive. THIS DOES NOT WORK.- If I am playing a very large 1080p HD quality file, the video can skip frames producing a stuttery playback. Doesn't happen on all 1080p videos, but it is a bit hit and miss in this repsect.

Good buy but,
While it works adequately and has played every format I have so far tried on it it isn't perfect, but it's pretty good for the price.I can't get the one button copy function to work at all. The delete function doesn't work either. It's still very good but editing or adding files always requires a connection to a PC, it wont load files directly from an external drive or USB stick etc. It doesn't work well with my MacBook. It's also a little noisy in operation with the hard drive whizzing about quite audibly. If I was buying again I would investigate the possibility of buying one with a solid state drive (if there is such a thing) rather than a conventional hard drive. I would spend more time reading reviews to see if people found all the functions worked. All in all, not bad but I won't buy another one of these. I would be prepared to spend more and expect better.

great little player
Bought another brand of media player which cost a lot more than this one awhile back and the cyclone is sleeker looking, bit bigger than a ext drive but would look good next to tv.Its quiet when playing unlike my old one, has a good menu display and added bonus is the copy feature which can be used to add anything from a memory card or usb stick. Saves putting computer on to transfer. For anyone who loves digital format for their media, photos's etc this is a great buy, i bought two as presents and would buy another one without hesitation. Consider the price of a stand alone external drive, why when you have the best of both, the only drawback is portability being a little larger but worth it for the sleek shiny little cube that I think looks smart.
