I love poets who can knock you off your feet in few words. This is Sinan Antoon. He is unique to me. In him I have found a way to connect to the wars in Iraq through the eyes of a civilian.I saw Antoon read tonight in DC. He walked onto the stage as nothing remarkable. He left as a god of understanding.In his own words, he writes about "Death and Eros." The contrast as the content is something to be experienced.

An amazing portrayal of the Iraqi culture, it conjures all the nostalgic reminisits of a beautiful people.
