Works great for my mini horse during grazing season

It fit well, and seemed well made. Ultimately, my mare deciced she didn't need it. I don't blame the manufacturer for it's destruction. I'm glad it comes off easy enough to not get hung up on anything out in the field.

Our horse was a non stop eater. She was over weight and suffered from laminitis. We needed to keep her off pasture. The grazing muzzle really did the trick. We feed her a little hay in the morning and evening in her stall. Then put on the grazing muzzle and let her on the pasture for the day. She has dropped weight and looks very healthly. She doesn't seem to mind it at all. She continues to go through the motions of grazing, getting only a very small amount.

All of the materials of this muzzle are good EXCEPT the plastic buckles on the sides. I've had two different horses rub them along the ground until they snap - then the halter falls off. The only option is to sew the straps down, which makes them non-adjustable. I tried that the first time on the side where the buckle had broken and then put it on a different horse. He rubbed the other side and broke it off. The answer is simple, metal buckles. You can find those on Weaver muzzles, which I now have.

Woo hoo - finally found a grazing muzzle that my girls aren't able to rub off within 4-5 hours. Even my one mare that I call Houdini-ette took 5-6 days to finally get her's off. Shipment was prompt and these are a great value. I've had more expensive ones in the past and had to walk the pasture daily to find them. I should have known to depend on Cashel!! I've used their fly masks for years and they're the best.

Horse size seemed smaller than Best Friends brand. Hope it lasts. My horse goes through several of these each summer
