The stiffness works perfectly for holding my tablet far over my rocking chair without drooping (based on having only had it a few days). When I first got this tablet holder, I was a bit demoralized because I didn't think I could turn it at all, but I stayed with it, and then got it to surprisingly turn. The base and the end segments both stiffly turned the 90 degrees needed. The pivots expanded to the angles needed. The tablet can tilt in every direction I need.The stiffness makes the tapping on the tablet have little recoil effect, and that little amount is apparently all due to the three legged world globe stand I have it attached to. I keep it in one fixed position, and can slip around it to sit in my chair. I don't plan on pushing it out of the way so I can sit down, and then pull it towards me. My assumption is it is not made with that kind of flexibility in mind. When I realized it was going to work, I was frankly thrilled, because I felt like I was taking a risk after having read some of the other understandable comments.I consider this stand a real find. Given the arthritis in my hands, not having to hold the tablet is a blessing. I knew I just had to write a comment to reciprocate in gratitude to the manufacturer. For those use cases where its qualities apply, praise would seem fully in order.

If you know what you want, and are aware of the movement limitations, this is an amazing product. Strong and sturdy, the joints do take some strength to move, that is what I was looking for. Holds my big ipad and has great viewing angles from the balljoint/hinge at the end. The only plastic to be found is the rubber padding over the metal clamp, and the weight and rigidity being the end result. To conclude, this was the one worth paying the extra money for.

this thing is SUPER stiff lmfao, so if you have any strength or mobility issues this is not for u. i have to sometimes bend it with the force of my leg+weight+gravity to get it moving, but it does "loosen" over time. ive had it for over a year now and the rotating joint at the bottom, the swivel, has loosened significantly where i can rotate it freely now, but the other joints are basically as stiff as new. its heavy, pretty much premium metal, and when u get past how hard it is to readjust, its simple to use. it has a decent size / length / circumference to it, and can get me most of the angles i want. for how i use it, to hold my phone or tablet above my head in bed, it functions fine.when i had a brief hand injury that made holding my phone in bed much more tiring, this came in handy.

Great ipad arm. I was sent for this to test/review and it's awesome - super glad they reached out. WAY better than an old floppy one I had. Its super sturdy, and crazy how many different angles you can place the iPad to view it. Works great with my iPad mini 6, and should hold a bigger iPad no problem. Sturdy and aluminum. You'll be pumped give it a go!

The tablet stand is extremely sturdy, made of high quality material and the movement is versatile, it holds the iPad very well. I had no issues assembling the fews pieces and the attachment to my desk was super easy!! I highly recommend this stand!

Ease of manipulating the folding arm is terrible. I guess such stability comes at a cost of requiring muscular strength, but I'm going to return this. The original price of the folding arm is not worth the muscular strength that it requires. Plus, the first arm that is near the desk cannot be tilted down to a 45 degree angle. Highly not recommended. Please save your strength. If you suffer from a broken wrist due to an accident, please do not buy this folding arm for your tablet.

It is a semi-rigid, semi-adjustable arm for smart devices for repeated stationary use in Zoom-type applications. Works effortlessly and consistently with zero drama. Pricey Ipad arm extension stand. Extremely sturdy to the point of being difficult to adjust and move around. Well built and almost like an OEM apple product. However, despite the high price for this version, the ipad holding end of the stand is still the regular cheap plastic holder. Should have been a magnetic holder to enhance the look and ease of use.
