I used a garden hose on the shower setting to clean the inside and the design peeled off. I'm very disappointed but am past the return policy to have it replaced. I thought about painting it but the mosaic design will not show if I paint over it. It still functions well, as long as you don't look inside it's okay. You would think that a product rated for outdoor use to hold water would be more durable. If you buy this be sure to gently wipe the interior with a soft cloth and not a hose with a sprayer. NOTE: the peeling happened about a month or two after I had it. I'm posting this update a year later because I'm setting it up after having stored it last year and remembered that I never posted this issue.I've been searching for a foutain since last summer and was happy to find one that I LOVED on Amazon. I read all of the positive product reviews and placed my order. Shipping was fast and the product was packaged well. I could barely contain my excitement as I opened the box. The directions for set up were very easy, it's really simple to install the pump and pretty much worked right out of the box. I love the sound of the water and set it up on a remote control timer that I got from Home Depot so I can start and stop it with the push of a button. Just a note that in the South we have a lot of pesky mosquitos so I bought mosquito dunks to keep mosquito larve at bay since I don't use the fountain every day. Thus far it seems pretty easy to clean especially since it only has 2 tiers. I haven't decided if I'll store it inside in the winter or buy a foutain cover so I can't speak to it durability during the winter months. I will say that the mosaic looks pretty realisitc unless you're up close. The price was right and the sound of the water is so relaxing. I often nap outside on my hammock (which was also bought on Amazon) and this fountain helps me feel like I'm on vacation. It's my own little slice of Heaven in the middle of the suburbs. ### ⭐⭐⭐ Paint Chips Right Away *by J***E on Reviewed in the United States on September 10, 2019* I'll chime in with the other reviews. This is a very pretty fountain, easy to set up and use, the birds love it. But the first time I cleaned it, the paint fell away on the top part and elsewhere. Just keep that in mind. ### ⭐⭐⭐ The birds love this fountain, unfortunately it looks terrible without paint! *by R***R on Reviewed in the United States on December 9, 2013* Update: Since our fountain was looking so bad and attracted mold easily because the paint and finish were worn off we ordered another one. The paint started coming off within the 1st week of use and the whole top tier broke off the second week. Luckily this happened within 30 days so we were able to get our money back. I'm really disappointed because this is a nice fountain if it were made with better quality.It is light weight and the paint comes off the more you clean it, but the price was reasonable. You get what you pay for.
