The CAP bumper plates may have a strong smell at first, but after owning them for over a year, I can confidently say they are worth it. The odor dissipated within about a month, and now there's no trace nor residual oil. I currently use 15, 25, 35, and 45-pound plates almost daily, and despite dropping them after deadlift sets and while changing weights, they haven’t broken or suffered severe damage.The quality is impressive; I always feel and inspect them when I handle them. Given their durability and price, they really are superb. There's no need to buy those ultra-expensive plates just to say you have them or because you've seen them in places like GGR or Gluck's Gym.I've considered other brands like Rogue and Rep Fitness, but I'm not convinced it's worth the excessive prices they charge for something I can get for much less while still enjoying excellent quality. I’m thinking about purchasing an additional set of 230 pounds, and I’m leaning toward the CAP competition color plates.My honest opinion from a mid-40s mid-dad with a salary job is that they are worth it. You don't have to break the bank.

I was impressed with the 45lb. plates. they were in perfect shape, no flaws. They did have a strong rubber odor like other people have described in other reviews, however it did not last long. I recommend buying some of these plates. These were the best priced I've seen anywhere. I am buying more soon...

Great weight at a great price. Came greasy and stink like rubber if that matters to you. I just leave them outside.

For the money these are probably the best quality weight plates you can get that are a fraction of the price of traditional/metal weight plates. I got 2 45 lb. plates for less than what I would pay for 1 plate of the traditional style at the local sporting goods/fitness store.These come well packed in sturdy boxes, and are wrapped in plastic. There is a bit of shipping grease on them and they do have a little bit of a plastic smell to them. The smell will go away in a few months and just have some wipes on hand when they arrive so you can wipe/clean them off. They look great, have a good feel to them, and work with the 2.5 inch barbells. These were a huge addition to my home gym since I was moving up to heavier weights on squats and deadlifts and needed to buy more plates behind my first 300 lb. Olympic Set. Other plates were cost prohibitive and I was initially skeptical about these given how "cheap" they were/are, but they are high quality and good plates. These have also been great for deadlifts since they are a bit easier on my floor padding than the metal weights.The only drawback is that there isn't a good handle or spot to grip the plate when you take it off the rack, so with the heavier plates you'll have to use 2 hands to pick them up and rack them. Will certainly buy a few more of these when I need to expand my weight set.

I've had the 45 lb economy plates for about 2 months now. What can you say about rubberized plates? They work as expected. They fit well enough on the bar, I don't recall if they had an odor; they don't smell now. They are taking a pounding with no issues. I generally prefer solid iron weights, but the concrete of my floor can't take it any more. I load up slightly smaller 45 lb iron weights on the bar next to these plastic plates, so the bumper plate is taking 2-3 times their own weight on impact with no problems. No cracks. Value can't be beat.

These are great plates for deadlifts and other lifts. Solidly built and easy to load and unload from the bar. I haven't dropped them from a waist high lift, and don't plan to, but I think they'd be fine. Only minor negative is the oil that they are coated in. Wipes off but it stinks and is messy. Great addition to my home gym. I ordered the 45, 25, 15, and 10 pound sets

Lamentablemente, tengo que decir que este producto tiene un olor completamente desagradable que no desaparece fácilmente. Llevo semanas con él y sigue oliendo muy mal. He usado diferentes técnicas para quitarle el olor, pero no es posible, tengo discos de diferentes marcas, y ninguno tiene un aroma tan fuerte como este. Creo que, considerando el precio, la calidad del material deja mucho que desear. Si se compra en oferta, podría ser una buena oportunidad, pero yo preferiría ahorrar un poco más y adquirir uno de una marca más reconocida y de mejor calidad.

If you need a thick bumper plate and don’t want to pay for the super expensive high end name brand ones. This one is a good value pick. There are several versions but this is their highest quality version with the thicker metal ring. Has a smell but goes away pretty quick. Does the job of bumpers. No issues. I would recommend getting these only when there’s a sale.
