Hikari 8.8-Ounce Cichlid Bio-Gold and Floating Pellets, Medium

I was worried about my 4 juvenile Redbelly piranhas not getting the proper food plus wanted to make sure my 75 gallon tank as clean as possible.Water quality is always an issue when you have messy eaters even with the best filtration. These pellets are the perfect size for my piranha. My fish are still young and around 3 to 4”. When I first tried these pellets I was worried because they float and my fish was used to other food sinking. It took them a few minutes and then one by one they attacked the pellets floating on the top of the water. I tried feeding them one to two times a day and just a few pellets. I’m very happy I got this fish food to try. They all seem healthy and happy and this bag will go a very long way. I usually bid about 20 pellets per day. That way there is less waste in the water and these pellets do not leave the water cloudy at all. I will be buying more of these whenever I need them. They have a very high nutritional value for protein. I suppose once they reach adult size I might get the larger ones. In addition to these pellets I feed them frozen shrimp about 3 times a week. Only 2 pieces though at a time.

Hikari is another brand of fish food that we often purchase in our home. They have a great quality product that has never failed. This is our first time trying this particular food and our red devil loves it! He grabs the food right off the surface as your drop them in. I love that Hikari uses the resealable bags, they are convenient and easy to store your food in. The bags are also very large so the food lasts us awhile, especially since we rotate foods to keep our fish's diet varied. We will definitely repurchase when we run out of food.

This fish food is always my goto choice for feeding Flowerhorn / Texas Cichlid fish. Within a month of using this, the fish start to show bright colors and haven’t had any health issues for the fish. I’ve been using Hikari products for almost 4 years now and definitely recommend these pellets for all types of top feeding cichlids. Check the pellet size (small, medium and Large) before ordering based on the size of the fish. I usually feed these when the fish is about 4” - 5” big. You may have to crush the pellets a little coarse and feed for smaller fish if even the small pellets are big for your young cichlids. Definitely recommend.

My Oscar absolutely loves these. She's maybe six months old? She's about six and a half inches long and is VIBRANT. She's grown so remarkably fast since I switched her to these pellets, and her colours are bright (she's a red tiger Oscar). She eats them with no fuss and is always begging for more. The silver dollars that live with her also love these :PEdit: She is now about a year and three months old, and I've had her for a year. She lives in a 55 gallon tank and she's my first Oscar, and people who have been raising and breeding Oscars longer than I've been alive are impressed with how big she's gotten in a year, and how healthy she looks. She's approaching a foot long now and is very healthy and is still very much interested in this food.
