I needed a place to store letters my grandmother has written me. This box is the perfect size and has a classic design. I like that it is made out of wood and has a timeless style. The key and locking mechanism aren't the highest quality and it took a minute to get it to line up right and lock. I rpobably won't use the lock much, so this was disappointing, but not a deal breaker. There is also glue visible along the interior seams of the box, which is why this got a 4-star rating. Again disappointing, but being on the interior I didn't care too much.

I am a woodworkerthese boxes take time to make...wood is not cheap....its a very nice accacia hardwood, high quality wood selection in mine, no knots, or rough spots, etc.the craftsmanship is very good for a box at this price pointif you want a really nice fine art exotic wood box, expect to pay 10-20x this price....hinges nicely installed with stops, key works, and gold color is a nice accent...I would suggest to the maker, scrape the glue in the corners of the lid, as its unsightly, otherwise, I would have given it 5 stars, but still a great value at $50

A lot of the other reviews mention it, but I will to. The outside of this box is gorgeous, the key is pretty. It's a good looking keepsake box. However, the inside leaves a lot to be desired. The craftsmanship on the inside is subpar in my opinion. You can see the glue from where it was assembled, that could have easily been cleaned up before it dried permanently. BUT, I had plans to line it with a fabric, so, do with that what you will.
