Have to say other reviews are correct...this item is truly beautiful! Do keep in mind this light must be hard wired as it is not solar so correct receptacles need to be available. At time of purchase only one was available and it was not a new option. The pricing was beyond great for what it is so I couldn't pass it up even though my home isn't quite ready for it as yet. So much more gorgeous in person and is actually pretty large in size....larger than expected. Unsure what material it is made out of but it does seem to be some type of metal, not plastic. It also is a coated metal which will make it last better in different types of weather. Do believe it is "painted" black over the metal for my piece does have a few small chips in paint along the top decorative "cap." Thankfully nothing to obvious and I believe will be easily remedied. The ornate detail on this light is what makes it stand out. Very victorian old world feel to the piece. It comes in two pieces that assemble easily and allow to give access to install your choice of bulb. Sadly the "glass" panels are indeed a heavy plastic but credit is given for they do not look plastic. The "glass" is a textured bubbled type that blends well with the old world style. The base is solid, overall sized well to balance it out and not be "top heavy" in any way. The piece has beautiful curves and lines and I'm really pleased with it. Though I did purchase a "used" piece it was listed as "like new" and in such condition. Sadly I couldn't give 5 stars only because the ceramic area that you screw the light bulb into is broken in multiple pieces. I do believe all the pueces are accounted for and I can glue that spot back together to salvage it. Reached out to amazon and they did compensate for that issue. I would easily purchase more if they was available! Will definitely be keeping eyes out for to ne restocked. Have to admit this is hands down my favorite purchase to date. None of the other post lights seemed to be anywhere near similar in style or as ornate in detailing. Even though this is meant to be a post light, it could be turned into a table lamp if you are a creative type and would look gorgeous as such. I do believe you could also instead use a candle in exchange for a bulb to light it. This lends to many options if usage besides mounting on a post. Can be used as is mounted upon almost any location that is flat such as a patio or porch railing, cement steps, walkways, table tops, and posts. As I already stated, it is a substantial piece, yet is lighter than would be expected. Honestly can't say just how gorgeous this item is in person.Beyond pleasef with this purchase!

This light post looks really nice. My main issue is that there's no assembly instructions provided. I have no idea what some of the parts included are for, and you definitely need to know you need to wire this into your electrical system; it's not a free standing post you can plug in and use. Instead of using it as intended, I've had a candle in the light section and been using that so that I don't have to get it wired. This will work great for someone who's in a position to connect this to their electric system.

I converted this in to an indoor table lamp by soldering the leads together with a lamp plug.I then put an LED “flicker” bulb in it and it makes for an unusual, eye-catching yet useful design element.The frosted glass is a nice touch, and although it is made of either steel or aluminum, the black coating really looks like wrought iron.It is well built, and I am confident it would be just as universal when used outdoors, for which it is designed.Unlike many lamps of this design which are either wall mounted or on a very tall pole, this lamp is small enough to be used as a table lamp, as I did.I love having it in my living room!

I thought this black vintage garden post was super nice. I was very pleased with this vintage garden post. I love the vintage design, and I think it adds class and style to your garden or backyard area. It is very beautiful when it is lit up at night. It is the perfect size to just mount on top of a post. I had originally ordered this vintage garden post as a gift, but I loved it so much I decided to keep it for myself. I think this vintage garden post would make an extremely nice gift for someone at Christmas, or any occasion.

Ordered this to replace the lamp on my post in the front yard. Keep in mind this is a wired lamp so you'll need an existing post that's wired in order to use it. Comes with wire caps which was nice so it was as easy as just putting the correct wires with each other and connecting them with the wire caps. It's just as bright as my other one was and it's pretty cool looking!Looks and appears to be a quality made product so I'm hoping it lasts several years!
