Best hot press watercolor paper I've used!
I loved the way the water moved on this paper. It made it much easier to paint. It also gave me the ability to lift color easily which is sometimes important in watercolor painting.

High Quality
Just as expected! I can't wait to use them.

Hot press is smooth
I have used it before and it is ok for watercolor. However it is great for graphite drawings because the smooth texture lends itself to smoother textures in the drawings. I would think it would be good for charcoal but I have not tried it. Also good for colored pencils and markers.

Arches papers are in a class by themselves
Arches make the finest 100% cotton papers on the market. I've used Arches for more than 40 years, both hot and cold pressed. Remember hot pressed is smooth. Cold pressed is bumpy with more texture. I use both types for: graphite, pencil, inks, watercolors, acrylics, and gouash. The problem with this particular hot pressed pad is that it's not that easy to separate, as the cold pressed pads are. For those of you who are beginners, the paper comes as a block and sheets are separated with a mat knife or straight-edged razor blade. You must first find the edge and slide the knife very carefully along the top and both sides. If you're not careful you'll cut the paper. Arches also comes in single sheets with the watermark stamped in one corner and the edges rough. It's a beautiful paper and takes medium very well.

Usual Great Arches Quality although I am new to hot press
Very pleased with the results on hot press Arches. I always have used cold pressed for animal and human portraits but my success with a young boy on cheap hot press encouraged me to try quality Arches hot press for commissions.I am going to review my 16 x 20 cold press Arches block next....

Love it
High quality paper with a smooth surface. I use this for multiple mediums (not just watercolor) and it works beautifully.

My New Favorite!
I am absolutely obsessed with this paper. I normally use cold pressed paper. Didn't realize how hard it was to find this kind of paper in stores. The store I work at only has the 20x30 sheets. Anyways, I love the way the colors look and how the watercolors move on this paper. I use Winsor & Newton for most of my paintings. Since I was so exited getting this paper I decided to get out of my comfort zone and do some realistic sketches (I usually do more cartoony drawings). I loved every second of painting. Definitely worth every single penny! That's the painting I finished today!

Great paper
I've usually used the cold Press paper, but decided to try the hot press. It's been great. The price was pretty good, and it arrived sooner than expected.
