Black Crystal Hiking Ski Snow Gaiters Waterproof Breathable Nylon Men's Black Size Extra Large

Ordered these for my father size extra large as he has "Sasquatch" feet. Turns out they were too big. Contacted seller and got them replaced for size large with no troubles. He is trying them out this weekend climbing Mt. Washington in New Hampshire!

They keep weed stickers and other types of weed seeds from attaching to my socks. They also keep most dirt from falling down the tops of them to my socks and inside my boots, such as when I dig out guinea grass with a large pick. I think that they are water proof too, so they'll keep your socks dry if you're walking in wet grass or brush. They have adjustable straps at the top and bottom. The bottom straps you adjust once and leave them. You hook up the top straps every time you put them on. If you're going to use them where there will be snakes you should probably get a pair from a brand that are thicker so that they are more snake bite resistant. These are lightweight and thin, but they do the job for me. I think that a snake could bite through one of these. There are no snakes where I live.

These gaiters are worth the money. I live in northern Indiana; 8 miles south of the Michigan border. Needless to say this year we have had our share of snow - calf deep at times. I bought these a month or so earlier - and I do not regret the purchase. Seams are sturdy and water proof. They have saved many a wet pant leg that could / would have occurred without them, as well as preventing the "leg Freeze" associated with wet trousers experienced during snow plowing. The velcro front closures are quick, secure, and snow proof ( as they are 1 1/2 inches wide providing more than adequate sealing. They are light weight. I had tried gaiters previously in Michigan but was unable to locate a product that was tall enough ; and especially, since I am stocky, I could find no gaiters that would fit. Black Crystal resolved all of thos issues. I cannot say enough about them. They are the greatest value for the money that I can think of

Material seems well made. My 3 rating is because they are a little hard to get closed over my size 14 boots.

These were recommended to me by a trekker/mountaineer for hiking/trekking use in our area. They are as good, if not better, than other similar gaiters that are double and triple the price. The buckles, straps and boot clip all function identical to the more expensive versions. The excess strap length tucks into a loop so it stays out of the way. The velcro enclosures up front are very wide and make it very easy to take these on and off. We hiked in the snow and ice and even crossed streams that were higher than my boots and my feet stayed dry. I am very happy with this product, and highly recommend them.

These gaiters felt very heavy-duty and protected my lower legs from briars very well over 10 days of hiking mountains of central PA. The velcro strips are substantially wide all along the front closure, and with waterproof hiking boots I was able to quickly cross streams slightly higher than the tops of my boots without getting wet! Because I am a woman with large calves I purchased the X-Large size, but had no problems with adjusting the straps to fit well around my boots. Good value, and good quality so far!

Strap is critically important and it's no good. Why not velcro???

If you have a large calf - these are not the gaiters for you. They're very tapered through the calf but they're an excellent, heavy gaiter.

I first tried waterproof trousers to stop mud getting on my normal trousers, too loud when walking, these are silent.Waterproof trousers are typically 25% more expensive but clearly keep you legs dry (apparently).These roll up and fit in my walking boots for storage, I only wear my boots with these now.My legs, calfs, calves or what ever, are much larger than I thought. I wear these with tight-ish running trousers and there isn't much room spare at the largest size. Why you would want spare room though is something of a mute point, perhaps to fit an oversized dirk? The build quality is good, the material seems robust, they stay up sufficiently to not be an issue, the velcro is aggressive when new, and is probably where these will fail first. They have yet to do so. No durability rating because they have not failed yet, a week of daily walking fwiw.

Used these gaiters for the first time last couple of days in the Ardennes with a lot of mud, they were the first I used and now I think why didn't I use gaiters before?! Kept my feet dry, warm and mud free.They were easy to put on, fit well and they stayed fastened very well. When you buy them they come in pairs, which makes them cheap for the quallity. I walked 25km a day with a pack and had to fasten them only ones.

These were great for my hike on the west coast trail. The part that covered my boots never got mud underneath and saved me a few slips in water/mud holes.the strap underneath the boot got chewed up abit, i may have to replace it eventually but this was expected since i was hiking on rocks and rough terrain.

Sehr gute Gamaschen, nur die Schnalle die unter den Schuh kommt ist steif und wird nicht lange halten.Achtung, die Größe muss allerdings richtig gewählt werden.

Good for larger size boots, the material is good quality the only down fall is the strap under boot is plastic and will soon need be replaced.
