catchy tunes
I ordered this because I wanted the song, "Yes sir I can Boogie." I heard it in a movie where it was sung by Celia Cruz. I couldn't find any record by her. Later, I heard in the series, Rake & saw it was sung by Baccara. I'm happy with the CD since they play it twice. It's a great song.

Good music, wrong product description, low quality CD
I am not planning to review the music itself here, but have problems with the quality of this CD and its presentation on Amazon.comFirst, be warned, that Amazon has wrong track listing. This CD has the following songs: 1. "Yes Sir, I Can Boogie" 2. "Sorry, I'm a Lady" 3. "Parlez-Vous Français?" (French version) 4. "Can't Help Falling In Love" 5. "Koochie-Koo" 6. "Cara Mia" 7. "Yummy, Yummy, Yummy" 8. "Gimme More" 9. "Granada" 10. "Number One" 11. "Darling" 12. "Ay, Ay Sailor" 13. "The Devil Sent You To Lorado" 14. "Feel Me" 15. "Adelita" 16. "Somewhere In Paradise" 17. "Hit Mix" ("Yes Sir I Can Boogie"/"Sorry I'm A Lady"/"Darling"/"The Devil Sent You To Lorado") 18. "Yes Sir I Can Boogie" (1999 karaoke version)Additionally, several tracks (for instance, #15, Adelita) have obvious sound defects/distortion although I purchased this CD new and it is not damaged. And finally, please note that the track listing tha Amazon placed for this disk actually belongs to Baccara's "The Original Hits" compilation album. Regrettably, the track listing for that album on Amazon is also wrongUpdate 6/28/11: obviously, the track list has been corrected by amazon.com.

It's a disco era classic.
You probably know all about Baccara.Well, this CD contains almost all the good parts there is to know, without any of the really bad B sides from their career. If you want to fill your house with deliciously vampy, dancable disco beats from thirty years ago, this is the perfect record to do it with. The mastering is reasonable (giving the age of the originals) and the CD rips easily to MP3, so you can carry it wherever you go. If you're into that kind of thing, that is.

Good Collection : Audio Mastering sounds overly bright
Mmmm good collection and what I expected musically as 70's euro cheese disco but the overall digital remastering is a bit bright, meaning they've cooked the top end and it sounds unnatural.I have a 4BSST2 Bryston Amp and BP20 pre-amp so the idea I could turn the treble down is void as there are no eq controls on high priced gear, the speakers currently are B&W Matrix 802 from 1989.Nice collection but the mastering has cooked the top end making it sound a bit shrill at times.

These Ladies were fantastic
The compilation is really excellent and the transfer to digital format does not reduce the sexy quality of their work at all

Euro Disco classic
Baccara a Spanish duo a German record producer perfect combination for pure unadulterated Euro Disco from the seventies only had 2 major hits in the uk but this collection is a reminder they should of had more over here but they were big in Europe swinging strings fill the songs and some dodgy English pronounced lyrics add to the mix but well worth getting this collection and as of November 2020 back in the Uk charts after 42years with their 1977 number 1 Yes Sir I Can Boogie thanks to the Scottish football team reaching the finals and playing this song celebratingBuy you won’t be disappointed

Great fun for under £4 when I bought.
Amazing value, good number of tracks and some that I did not have already. I suspect that like many, I remembered these ladies from their UK hits and initially their less well know output sounds rather silly. However after repeated plays there is a charming catchiness that goes along with the 'silly' 70s glamour. Highly recommend at this price. It's a bit of fun.

Camp Nonsense!
Yes Sir I Can Boogie is a true euro disco camp classic. There are a few other half decent tracks on this compilation but overall it's a load of camp old nonsense, FAB-U-LOUS DAHLINGS!

Guilty pleasure
Bought this as I still have Baccara's original vinyl LP from the 1970s.Still as good as I remember it, and will definitely get people of a certain age up and dancing! These are songs that shouldn't have worked with lyrics like those, but back then they struck a chord and an unlikely chart hit resulted.

Underestimated
Sitting in your favourite armchair, sipping a glass of beer or wine, listening to the dulcet tones of Baccara. No better way of relaxing for an hour or so.
