Great reference book!! Very complete!

I really like this Bible dictionary. It adds so much to my Bible study to be able to immediately look up more in-depth info on people, places & things as I read them.

The book itself is well crafted, all information is placed on great pages between thick hard covers with excellent binding, this indicates a lasting presentation indeed, guaranteeing a lifetime of learning and enlightenment!!. I could shower accolades a plenty but why should I?..so when you get your copy which you'll be so proud of, I want you to have some accolades of yourself to share with all the world..very highly recommended.. one of the best Christian books ever published...it is as golden as it is affordable, amen!!!.

I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior way back in 1983. Shortly afterwards I desired to study the Bible in depth but didn't have a lot of cash so I bought the budget editions of Moody's Bible Commentary and Unger's Bible Dictionary. Anyone else remember those bright yellow flimsy paperback covers that began to turn up at the corners after a couple of month's use? I also bought a cheap edition of Strong's concordance. Well, after eight years in a rigid, legalistic, independent fundamentalist church I became exasperated (as my new pastor would say) and walked away from the Lord for 23 years. The Bible, commentary, dictionary, and concordance all went into the trash. Ugh! What a dummy! But the Lord was mercifully patient with me and kept calling me back to Him. Last year I returned to the Lord. Oh, what joy to be in His fellowship again, to read His word and to fellowship with other believers! And what a joy it is to dig deep into the Bible. My heart overflows! I recently picked up a good Bible commentary and concordance and also this updated edition of Unger's Bible Dictionary. I love Unger's. There's no need to worry about doctrinal orthodoxy with this tried-and-true dictionary. Dr. Unger was a conservative Evangelical scholar; a theologian, teacher, and archaeologist who loved the Lord and greatly reverenced His Word. Every believer approaches God's Word differently. Some deep-dive into the Word daily while others may read only a few verses now and then. But having a good Bible dictionary like Unger's with you as you read Scripture will help your understanding tremendously. Let's face it, few of us are familiar with Hebrew/Jewish history, culture, and geography. When the Bible references unfamiliar people, places, objects, and customs we tend to gloss right over them. But what rich treasure there is in those details! If you really desire a deeper understanding of God's Word do yourself a favor and buy this New Unger's Bible Dictionary.

The book is beautiful, very detailed, and useful.I am very satisfied.

Christmas present for our son

This is an indispensable book for any serious student of Biblical hermeneutics, along with your concordance, lexicons etc. Just remember that Unger's is just a man like any other (and all the other contributors for that matter) and commentary is often merely opinion. Apply your rational thinking, logic and reason when studying scripture (Isa 1:18, Jer 17:9). Keep seeking to prove the will of God (Rom 12:2).

This one of my best Bible dictionaries. Color pictures throughout, exceptional definitions, and excellence in textual writing. Highly recommended.
