An excellent read
I cannot think just how I missed this story for so long. But I have thoroughly every word. Highly recommended, a real "cannot put down" tale and very enjoyable to the very end.

An enjoyable read
A fictional but authentically-flavoured account of life aboard a large warship in WW2 and the personal lives of those caught up in it.

Reedman spends much of his narrative telling us about the characters in his story. Some, but not all, of that I found vital to the story. The battle scenes are well executed as we would expect from this auther.

Most Douglas Reeman books follow the same pattern - problem ship or problem captain plus a couple of crew members as heroes or villains - love interest develops - initial combat action from which ship emerges unscathed or slight damage - sex - final heroic battle in which ship enjoys narrow victory against the odds. For all that, his books are well written and display a good and obvious knowledge of the Royal Navy of the second world war period. This makes for a a decent read, provided you have not read any more of his books recently in which case you will have a large dose of deja vu!

Well Worth a Read.
Long time since I've read a Douglas Reeman book, I'd forgotten how 'page turnable' they can be. Well worth a read.

A good read.
If you are a Douglas Reeman fan you will like this book. If you enjoy historic naval fiction the chances are you will not be disappointed.

Battlecruiser
I have read most of this author's books under both names Douglas Reeman and Alexander Kent. I enjoy them so much that I have started a collection with the newer large size paperbacks. His characters are real and quietly heroic. It shows that people can be strong and still have a gentlness and caring for others that is saddly lacking in many of our leaders today.

Battlecruiser well read
I really liked the book Battlecruiser, as an ex-naval rating myself it read very real and sincere. I like to read Douglas Reeman as he seem to write so well and from reality.

Good read, but aprupt end
Good read, but painfully short in naval actions, and the end is MUCH to quick … seems, the author wanted to end the book at any price. It's good, but could be MUCH better!
