The soap smells like its ingredients. It smells earthy. This is not a perfume. My family doesn't like the smell but they tolerate it because this soap is the best thing for soothing and avoiding irritated skin on my hands.You will definitely need a draining soap dish.If the bar sits in water, it will become mushy and the smell of the ingredients will be stronger.I keep mine standing on end in the soap dish, not lying on its side, so it dries more quickly after use.It's a large bar that if kept dry between uses will last a long time.

My review on this soap is fantastic your skin shines after getting out of the shower with the stuff. It goes fast reason being because I use glove scrubbers. Yes it’s made in Lebanon but by a Syrian soap makers. I also like to point out that Lebanon and Syria were once part of the Levantine providence during the ottoman empire so the soap being made in Lebanon doesn’t make it any less an Aleppo soap. Aleppo is not far away from either Lebanon or Turkey. In Turkey they sell Aleppo Pepper and in Syria and Lebanon they sell Aleppo soap. Enough of my ranting it has a beautiful scent of Laurel which almost smells like allspice or bay rum almost it’s a very beautiful smelling soap it helps with psoriasis cleans your skin and moisturize it. Different from other Aleppo soap it has 25% Laurel oil which is more than the other Aleppo soaps out there. You feel very moisturized after getting out of the shower using the stuff.

I have dry skin and Getty up there in age. This soap leaves me feeling clean and refreshed. Without dry skin. Smells like dirt on the bar but leaves no odor. I like it.

Nice size and has lasted quite awhile. Was originally used for my husband's shaved head that is prone to getting pimples/black heads. I know its gross but he has a very oily skin base on his head and face. Tried this soap for those problem areas and he wasn't too satisfied. However, he did like it for a body and hand soap. The natural scent is really impressive throughout its usage. It does tend to get a slimy build up quicker than regular bar soap but thats about it for anything negative said. Would we buy it again? Sure probably!

I do not recommend it. I wanted to like it. It sounded like a great product but it smells like a very old soap. I was not expecting it. Every soap I have ever used always had a pleasant scent. So, it was a different experience. My husband did not want to use it on himself. I did use the soap until it was finished. I liked it on my face and skin. However, it was not that much better than regular soaps to make me want to buy it again. Especially, taking the smell of it into consideration. Also, I was recommended by someone to use Aleppo soap to wash my hair instead of shampoo. It did not work out. Aleppo soap doesn’t clean the hair at all. If anyone intends to use it to wash one’s hair, I do not recommend it. If anyone is sensitive to smells, I do not recommend it either. Hence, it just didn’t work for me.

At first I was skeptical because my wife likes to buy stuff that doesn’t work and then I end up using it. However this soap, is amazing on my skin, i am not one to use lotion ever, but with this soap makes my skin Soft and healthy looking! I also have a big beard now and I used to just shampoo my beard and use conditioner on it, but when I use Aleppo Soap my beard looks shiny and clean!!My wife and daughter are of sensitive skin and they are loving the Aleppo Soap 5 stars and I will be buying this soap on a regular basis. Also keep in mind this thing is big, so we cut it in 3, 1 piece for our bodies(wife and me) 1 for the kids and 1 for the face by the sink. A blessing for my home because my sensitive wife and kids are anti-fragrance all the way! Anyways 5 stars, love It, wasn’t really my thing but I am on board with this soap!

I also noticed I am very itchy after use
