Hallelujah! Right out of the box, it worked perfectly!! Replaced our old one for DirecTV, same model. The old one had major issues, i.e; many buttons hardly working anymore, had to press many times before it worked. So frustrating! New one, light touch, buttons worked flawlessly. And it was a two-fer purchase, less expensive than the same model for only one with other companies, and even came with batteries! (It looks exactly like our old DirecTV remote, even down to the logo on the bottom.) What a difference. No more aggravating punching the old remote multiple times! Fast delivery. I can't believe I didn't think of looking thru Amazon before to find it! Thank you!!

Classic DirecTV Remote. Have used them for 25-years. I had one that was intermittent in operation. Looked for a replacement and found this "2-fer" for about the same price as a single one, so jumped at it. Tested them out and the first one worked great, the second one showed that it was transmitting but it did nothing with the receiver. Amazon stood behind their sale and authorized a split payment refund for the defective unit. Very happy with the working unit and with Amazon taking care of their customer base!

These Universal DirecTV remotes are much better than the new smaller Genie remotes DirecTV is shipping with their Genie 2 boxes. I've been a DirecTV customer for more than 20yrs now and DirecTV always would ship me Universal remotes when I upgraded my DVR. Well with the Genie 2 I was sent their slimmed down remotes that aren't Universal. Yes they're more compact but the main problem that bugged me the most was their inability to turn off the TV independently from the DVR. I would have to turn off the satellite box manually let's say if I wanted to switch over and use Google Chrome. It was so annoying. I'm so glad I found these official DirecTV Universal remotes and that they work perfectly with the Genie 2 DVR! I bought the two pack for a great price. These remotes are hefty and well made. They don't feel cheap at all like the Genie remotes which I went through 4! The programing was a breeze. Right out of the packaging they worked with the receiver. No programming needed. I just needed to program the TV. When you're programming the TV just set the slider on the top of the remote to "TV", then follow the steps in the instructions that come included with the remote. Select your TV brand on screen and the tv codes will be displayed. Try each code until you find one that allows you to control the TV volume and you're done! Enjoy your new remote!
