This thing is a beast. Well made, simple, sturdy. The leather is thick, the handle is strong and flexible. Worth the money.

The handle is very sturdy and allows for a shorter arc for stunning / killing flies wirh a solid tap, rather than cheaper wire / plastic ones which bend and require a harder swing.The thick leather swatter stays in place.I would buy again!

Wish the handle was a few inches longer....

We had to replace our ceiling recently because of water damage due to a hole in the roof. Our attic is infested with red wasps, and when the ceiling caved in we had 30 red wasps coming in the house on a daily basis. The plastic fly swatters kept breaking and wearing out, so I looked for a more durable flyswatter that I wouldn't have to replace every month. I found this leather fly swatter. It seems durable, as I don't think the leather will wear out anytime soon. The only problem I can forsee with durability is in the wood handle. When you smack something with this fly swatter, you have to be very careful to only hit with the end and not the handle, or you could easily break the wood. The leather is amazing against wasps and flies though. It annihilates everything. The holes are just large enough to let the air pass through, which I was concerned about. It's hard to tell its size from the pictures, but it's the same size as my standard plastic-and-clothes-hanger-wire fly swatter. See my attached photo for comparison.The one drawback this fly swatter has over a classic swatter is after you kill the bug. I always use the fly swatter to scoop up the bug by putting the fly swatter flat on the ground, pushing it underneath the bug by pushing it to a wall so it goes on top of the swatter, then I dump it in the trash. This leather swatter is thicker than a normal swatter, and it is significantly harder to get underneath the dead bug because of its size. It's annoying enough that I took away a star, but I still highly recommend this fly swatter, even just as a conversation piece. Four stars.

This is the fifth one I have purchased of this product because of how much we love them and like having them in every room in summer. The leather is top notch and ensures this will last much longer than cheaper plastic ones. Would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a good quality swatter.

Being a 38 year old white male. Born and raised in the state of Idaho, I have a lot of experience with flies. When I was a young boy scout we used to catch large horse flies while camping and insert a pine needle into their rectum and then turn them loose. They would hover away in a straight line. I have since learned of the flies disease carrying nature no longer try to use them for entertainment. We recently had some manure/mulch installed in our back yard which really brought the flies in heavy. This caused my Home Depot purchased fly swatter to be destroyed from over use. Little did I know this would lead me to my favorite purchase of the year! This swatter rock! It is superior to any device of its kind. I recently purchase 4 more and plan to give them as gifts to my favorite friends and family this Christmas. It is so well built that I fully plan to leave this in my will for some lucky person when I die. I am not a paid reviewer and did not receive any free product

I like everything about this swatter.From the Ashwood handle to the leather pad.I mean business this year. I can’t tolerate another season with flies and they won’t stand a chance with this bad boy.
