Hammerite 5084869 Direct to Rust Metal Paint - Smooth Red Finish 250ML

Wanted a smaller tin of metal paint and having used Hammerite before and it's good quality, it was a question of finding a tin at a good price, which this purchase was. Though the instructions suggest can be put onto rusty metal and just needs a 'clean up' from dust, grease etc, I've always given things a 'wet and dry', clean with white spirits and paint. Always had good results, have to say here, I'm not a professional or anything, just my thoughts! But 2-3 coats and great finish. Good value and order to delivery, was very good.

Great paint, true to colour, ensure you only stir product when opened rather than shake the tin. It is quite runny when applying and drips easily, and may need a couple of coats to get an even coverage depending on the surface you are using it on, but for me once dried looks great and an even coating was achieved. Easy to clean brush in white spirits.

Why did you choose this product over others?:This is the best for painting over rusty blemishes on a metal radiator without priming. I have used it before.

This is great paint Iv used it on a my bird bathIt was in a bad way no paint on it at all and all I did was jet wash it down then paint it it came out looking better than I thought it was I would buy this again

Worked really well on some old cast iron work bench legs that I’m repurposing as an outdoor table. The paint applies easily, it’s thick so doesn’t drip or run. The colour is great, the can did two coats so it does go quite a long way. So far no rust has come back through

Very good price and puts a very good coat of protection on my motorbike stand to protect from rust and all the road grime it is exposed to.

Very durable paint, will cover anything.Brushed on this paint to new calipers and the finish was good. Still looking good a few months in.
