Perfect backpack
My daughter loved the color and this is definitely one of the better backpacks we’ve purchased. The material is durable as well as the straps and zippers. It holds up well for the amount of stuff my daughter has to carry from class to class. Great purchase for middle school students.

LOVE
I bought this for my college-aged child. She said it’s very nice and she loves it. The quality is excellent!!! It’s big enough for her 16” MacBook to be packed safely. She said the straps are comfortable as well. It has plenty of room for all of her college necessities and for a few snacks too. This bag is built nicely and I know it won’t fall apart after a few months. Great purchase!! I would recommend this.

Practical, for most city-dwellers.
I had a Swissgear Synergy that I carried with me daily to work from 2006 to 2023 and at least 4 international trips per year from 2007 to 2022. I loved everything about that backpack except it's exterior shape, which was overly teardrop shaped from both side-to-side and front-to-back.My experience with the durability of Swissgear is what made me look for another Swissgear product. I retired in 2023, and I wanted a backpack that was still useful for international travel, while being more rectangular, so that it could more easily fit under an airplane seat. The VersaMax is ALMOST what I wanted. I'd really like for it to be slightly wider so it can carry more when needed. I'd really like for it to have an umbrella pocket. I'd really like it to have a small-ish pocket that can be opened only from the top that can hold devices or other important items for quick access. The VersaMax has a larger pocket that is velvet-lined and zips open from the top, but it zips open much too far. The VersaMax also has a hidden/side pocket, but the way it zips also doesn't inspire confidence for storing important items. So far, I've carried my VersaMax to Bali, Costa Rica, England, Germany, Hong Kong, and Thailand. It performed well.I'd even say exceptionally well after I used safety pins to limit the zipper travel of two of the zippered pockets. I can only hope that it gives me over 15 years of service across 4 continents, like my Synergy.

Picky packer pleased with pack
I've only used it a few weeks now, but it's holding its own like a champ. The hard case upper front pocket is a new thing for me, but I like the structure it adds to the pack and how it helps protect the things in the other sections as well. Pockets have zippers that open far enough to be able to get into the different sections and the laptop sleeve accomodates a 16" diagonal screen laptop. It would probably handle a 17" too but I haven't tested it.Pack itself is pretty light but still has some substantial fabric strength. Appears seams are well sewn and it's balanced when worn. I'm 5'4" and have a short to average torso. I find it just fits my back and so long as I have the straps adjusted properly it sits on my back instead of using my rear as a shelf. Padding is adequate without making it feel like the staypuff marshmallow man is hitching a ride. Bottle holders are really accomodating for larger width bottles, you could easily stash a prego can of soup in there. It doesn't necessarily hold things in place when the bag tips though. If you're packing 32oz+ stainless steel travel coffee mug, it's more likely to tip out. And if your gasket is cracked it might soak your passenger seat by accident. (Don't be me kids...) Color is true to the image.Overall, I'm super glad I got this bag. I'm sure it will carry my things for years to come!

Not very durable and no one to talk to about the product
This backpack was bought as a present. When opened, the sunglass compartment was crushed but was needed so it was used anyway as it took forever to be delivered. After about a month of use the plastic attachment on the zipper broke. It has not been a very durable product. I am very disappointed
