Simpson brushes really are in a class of their own.This is synthetic, but almost indistinguishable from the best quality badger - it’s also remarkable value given how well made it is.

Since I started shaving with traditional soaps about a year ago, I have been using a cheap boar bristle brush. Lathering up a soap has always been a big challenge and no matter how many techniques I tried the results have been inconsistent. In the end I figured that the brush is the single most important tool for the job, so I needed to try something different and I ended up ordering the T2 from Simpson.The brush arrived in an unbranded red box, which looked suspicious, but the brush looked alright. The bristles are very soft even when dry and the handle feels premium. The water retention is ridiculous compared to my boar one and I can feel the weight changing after having dipped it in water.So, straight out of the box and with no "getting used to" period I managed to get perfect lather from my Mitchell's wool fat soap in under a minute. Impressive, to say the least. We are talking about super thick, shiny, bouncy foam. Very similar to what you would get out of a modern Gillette can. The touch on the face and the behaviour of the bristles is pure bliss.In conclusion, a good brush just saved me tons of time and frustration on my shaving routine. And we are talking about a synthetic bristle, faux ivory handle, cruelty-free brush. No badgers need to be killed in order to enjoy a premium barbershop level shaving anymore. The product is perfect and the price is right. I think products like this need to be suggested to newcomers in wet shaving more often and in general get more love from the shaving community, who tend to fetishize natural brushes.

Liked the compact size of this brush. Seemed to take a little longer to work up a decent lather, although this is improving with subsequent use. Very good product.

Me gustó que el nudo es de 26mm, de cerdas sintéticas y retienen mucha agua.La caja no tiene impresa la marca y el modelo, pero eso no me importó, lo que me ocupa es la brocha (aunque me hubiera gustado que si las tuviera).Me estuve informando mucho para elegir una brocha porque cuando buscas una para comprar hay un mar de productos distintos, modelos, tipo de cerda, tipo de mango, etc. Me decidí por esta.Después veré la Chubby de Simpson a ver qué tal.Si la recomiendo.

Buena brocha...hace buena espuma y es muy suave

I have several synthetic brushes and have definitely gravitated toward those with more backbone (like the “tuxedo” bristles). I really prefer my badger and boar brushes because they are stiffer, even if the tips are not quite as soft. But this Simpsons brush immediately became my favorite synthetic. It is very soft against the face, but the bristles have strong backbone. It doesn’t just immediately collapse like other synthetics when I apply some pressure, either to load it with soap or against the face. It’s a Simpsons, so no big surprise that’s it’s great. Of course, being a synthetic, there is no funky animal smell, it dries quickly, and there’s no need to pre-soak it before use. This immediately became my go-to synthetic and would be a great travel brush. It performs very well - whips up a great lather and feels oh so soft against the face. It’s a great looking brush as well (I got the ebony one). Nice weight, too. You can pay a lot less for a synthetic shave brush, but this Simpsons brush is definitely worth the price.Is it “Simpson” or “Simpsons?” They use both on their website and literature. No version with an apostrophe, though. The brush says “Simpson” on it but the box says “Simpsons.”
