Pace Yourself: How to have energy in an exhausting world

Very well researched and concise
After a lot of changes in my life this year I have been experiencing an awful lot of overwhelm and exhaustion. After reading this book it made me realise just how many areas of my life were using up my physical, emotional and mental energy. It’s incredibly well written, well researched and made me crave a far slower pace of life. My next step is to use the book to create a different pace that I can live life at, one that will help me retain my energy and spend it wisely. I’ve picked up some activities (childhood hobbies in fact!) that will bring me ‘joy’ and plan on integrating these in too.It was the perfect winter read, a season that demands the slower pace of life reflected in this book.

Easy to read, informative book
This book gave me more of an insight into ME/chronic fatigue but the subject matters and lessons can be applied to anybodies life.It invites you to take an honest, constructive look at how your life is and where you would like to be and to take steps to create that lifestyle on your own terms, milestones, goals, in a way which advocates for self-care.

Great book for reframing our view on productivity/energy - highly recommended!
This was a very engaging read which was clearly well informed/researched yet was presented in a very friendly and personable way. Amy writes as if she’s talking to you as a friend, and she has a wonderful way with analogies that help her effortlessly communicate all manner of concepts and jargon.I felt that there was a lovely balance that Amy has struck of compassion and scientific understanding. This isn’t a manifesto for the unreasonable or unachievable, it is an invitation to reconsider your own experience and a toolkit to aid that.I would recommend this book to pretty much anybody that has to cooperate in our productivity focused society, who may feel burned out, always tired, or always stressed. I already feel that I have a healthier relationship with my own energy!

Easy to ready, informative, genuinely helpful
Absolutely loving this bookIt’s so informative but in a friendly, non-overwhelming way. Really comforting, sort of feels like chatting to an understanding bestie. Really refreshing to read advice that is clearly based of lived experience.Genuinely helpful suggestions, not full of unachievable lifestyle changes like some books are!Definitely recommend!
