Q: Can this be used to nurse?

I got red and it's not that sheer at all. And it's fairly wide too. So I'd say it depends on how modest you want to be. But it might work. It's soft too.

Q: I want an orange that is University of Illinois orange. Is this the right bright orange color as opposed to more of a salmon?

I ordered the gray, it was very true to the picture and looked slate and then was a true slate color. I have not seen the orange in person but that picture deffinatly appears to be true orange.

Q: if wrapped around 3 times, is it tight enough to be damaging to yourself or will it just be tight?

not sure if you even CAN wrap it 3 times. 2 seems to give more of a 'tighter on the head, pile of material on the neck' feel and look so i think a third wrap wouldnt even make it around the head
