Love it! I like how the sounds have some bass.
I haven't even used it for a full night of sleep yet, but I already love it! I turned it on and went through the sounds, and I really like that the sounds actually have some bass to them. I sleep in a somewhat noisy college dorm with thin doors and inconsiderate night owls who slam doors, so I need to use earplugs. But it gets a bit TOO quiet with earplugs. I like to hear the constant sound of a fan, or heating, or water pipes, or any constant sound that buildings make (and these sounds normally have some bass to them). Which is why I purchased this. I also like that it doesn't have any annoying lights that brighten up your bedroom. Another bonus: the sleep timer can be set for any number of hours, unlike in other machines where it's only 15, 30, or 60 minutes. My insomnia can be bad enough to the point that I take 3-4 hours after turning out the lights to fall asleep, so I definitely appreciate being able to set the machine for 5 hours or so. This was definitely designed thoughtfully. My only complaint would be that the cord could be longer, especially since my dorm doesn't have many sockets. But that's nothing an extension cable can't fix. I'll definitely be adding this product to my arsenal of supplies to combat insomnia! (Which includes earplugs, lavender oil, melatonin, diphenhydramine, and sleep sound apps – you can see how desperate I am to have a good night's sleep!)UPDATE: So I've been using this for a few days now. And it's great! Silence is obviously ideal, but if that's not an option, this machine works great to block out annoying noises. I've found it works best when you place it between yourself and the offending noise. It creates a sort of wall of sound, and it blocks out my dad's snoring at night as well as any outside noises like annoying car motors. It also works great when I'm just trying to absorb myself into a novel without distractions. The only thing i would like to see is a remote, and buttons to toggle back and forth between the noises, instead of having to cycle all the way through to get to a certain noise.

Excellent for home and travel
I have one of these at home where it keeps me sane. – I live in a noisy, downtown condo, with inner and outer noise. I suffer from misophonia, which means a lot of noises (footsteps, music, car alarms, barking dogs) create great anxiety for me and I cannot sleep; even after the noise ends, I will be so tense I cannot sleep for hours. The noise machine really helps with most noises.I bought this second one for travel. I just returned from a trip to Egypt where I slept better than ever. Normally, I have a lot of trouble sleeping in hotels, especially the first night in a new room. Traveling, the main problem is unfamiliar sounds, not misophonia. Other people I was traveling with mentioned their problems sleeping and wasn’t I bothered by the barking dog or the wedding party or whatever, and I had to smile and say no, I slept just fine with my white noise machine. I think LectroFan owes me some commission from the number of people who then said they were going to buy one for their next trip. From Egypt, I went to a hotel in Michigan where slamming doors and people talking in the halls echoed throughout my room. My white noise machine took care of that.I had no problem with voltage in either location. It worked just fine, just plugged it in and turned it on.

No trouble sleeping now....
My sleep quality really sucked until I tried this sleep machine.. so many sounds to choose from fans to helicopter sounds.. easy to set the sound, turn on and off, night after night. Highly recommend

Super awesome noise generator!
Since working in remote, and mostly hostile, locations for years, I became reliant on background noise to sleep. Fans, generators, loud AC, various noises of weapons, whatever. No matter what I used, it wasn’t optimal. Fans, wife was freezing. Explosions, well you know. Anyways, I was turned on to the idea of noise generators and started looking. This particular item came highly recommended via the reviews. Price is reasonable. Use is super easy. Number of different noises is excellent. Highly recommend.

Perfect for thin-walled city apartments
I love a lot of things about my city apartment but sometimes the noise gets to be a little much. I have kids stomping upstairs and a chatty neighbor downstairs, and of course traffic sounds outside. I don't mind any of it during the day but it's tough not to focus on every little sound when you're trying to sleep. The Lectrofan has been perfect! I only like a few of the deeper-toned sounds but I just found one I like and stick with it. It's small, you can use the USB charger or regular plug-in, has a great volume range, the sounds are rich (phone app sounds are ok but don't really "swallow" other sounds like this does). I haven't traveled with it but it came with a few plug in options for travelers, it would be easy to pack so I might try it out. In short, it's perfect for what I needed it for, to help me sleep.
