Great for younger kids introduces them to the concept of how dictionaries work, as well as being fun to look at.

This is a wonderful book to read to young children...it helps them learn the letters of the alphabet. When a letter has more than one sound like the letter "C", there are words illustrating both the soft sound and the hard sound. It also introduces phonics by combining letters like ch and sh. It introduces suffixes like long, longer , longest. It's great to help children understand some of the patterns of words in the English language. The pictures are often humorous, and children really enjoy listening while looking at the pictures. This is a great book for young children....I think it would also be great for second language learners. I love how children are really enjoying themselves and learning so much at the same time!

This is a great book. My sons had it 35 years ago and now I gave it as a gift to my grandkids.

For everyone remembering Cat in the Hat books, these are excellent resources for young children.
