The lock is very useful to secure the blade when extended far. The blade auto-load feature is the best! It holds 5 blades and instantly loads a new one when needed. The handle seems sturdy and grip feels very secure. I used this to make several animatronic Halloween props this year. I kept this in my pocket because I used it so often. Having a long razor-sharp blade at the ready was a huge time saver for me. My only complaint is with the little locking screw.
